Struggles with motorway speed.

As others have asked, regardless of the van struggling at 70, can you actually get it to exceed 70?

If 70 is a hard limit and you're simply assuming the limiter has been removed, you have to seriously question your assumption.

You must have missed my post where I said how I checked the limiter with VCDS.

After a lot of fiddling around it's looking like a wastegate actuator issue

have you actully driven it after doing the fuel filter to see if its any better or the same rather than just keep testing this that and the other you cant eliminate a dodgy fuel filter until you test run it
It's just a case of plugging in vcds. Not a big deal. The motorway is half an hour's drive!

I missed the post where you're clarified whether you can go over 70.:p

Are you sure there's no method of restricting speed outside of VCDS?
yes, it's been over 70 with a tail wind and a hill. It's not restricted.

but why bother checking anything else out if you get it on the motorway and find its fine and it's been a crudy filter all the time if its the same at least you have eliminated the filter as a problem and can look elsewhere

because that would take an hour and a half and vcds takes 20 min

Stupid question, but with the van originally being owned by the RAC… is there a speed govener on the vehicle? You see a lot of vans owned by the AA, RAC, Post Office and British Gas that state on the back door that the vehicle is limited to 60 or 70 MPH. Just a thought.

At last! Would have been useful info a few dozen posts back.
Sorry, I just thought people would understand "struggling at motorway speeds" as broader than 70mph. Which it is. If it quickly went up to 70, it would be clear that a limiter was the issue and I wouldn't be asking about how other people's vans perform.
I've been in and out of the house, fixing my van and didn't see every post here.
Thanks for your help.

Your first post said

How fast are they supposed to go?
I have a single turbo T6 with a remap to 198hp.
Loads of low-down torque and power but it really works hard at 70mph.

Which is perhaps why me and a few others read it that way.

I do have chunky heavy wheels.
I'm curious to know what's normal or if I need to be investigating injectors and HPFP
What size, width & profile are your tyres?
Were they fitted when you first had remap?

Edited to note I hadn’t realised my phone opened the thread on first page. D’oh!
Apologies if repeating questions.
