I feel like/hope I may have dodged a bullet. Who I placed my order with was a toss up between Autoebid and SMG, who I used previously. There was £800 difference in quotes in autoebids favour but went with SMG based on exisiting relationship.

Yes. Let us know what date they giveGulp! And your the guy who received the email re losing price protection for vans not deliverable in Q1 - right?
Did you, like me, order via AutoeBid? (just a guess based on the fact they're probably not your local dealer)
Well, in the past week AutoeBid have provided an update that states the dealer is still expecting my van "to arrive for March 2022". However, given that I ordered 2 months after you, I somehow doubt that is true. I will follow-up directly with JCB Ashford and let you know what they say.Yes. Let us know what date they give
I think that's a good strategy and I sincerely hope it means you dodged a bullet. Unfortunately, this is my first Transporter and, as such, I had no existing relationship and went with the lowest bid. I was careful to ensure AutoeBid weren't a broker and that the order would be directly placed with a VW dealer, but I had no idea that dealer allocation constraints were/ would be an issue.I feel like/hope I may have dodged a bullet. Really pleased for you James - you must be buzzing. All, I ordered my van through Autoebid in Sept 2020 and it finally landed in the Uk today, my VWVC was also JCB Ashford. Whilst both companies have kept me updated with what information they know they have been at the mercy of the VW Factory and at times there was just no information, it took 9 months before I had a provisional build date. I honestly can't fault either company over this long process and they will tell you what they can but my experience is that there is so much uncertainty, for example my van was in build for 9 weeks due to semiconductor issues in the end. I think this price rise issue is awful when you have no control on the outcome and have ordered in good time but it seems the dealers don't have any say either.
What was your spec again @jamesabell1978....how many semi-conductors have you used? All, I ordered my van through Autoebid in Sept 2020 and it finally landed in the Uk today, my VWVC was also JCB Ashford. I think I had most of the possible combinations of semiconductors available in the end. At least one for every day since ordering or similar due to the time it took. I could only have squeezed a few more in with DCC and a parking heaterWhat was your spec again @jamesabell1978....how many semi-conductors have you used?
Good for you your van has arrived!
I had a 45 minute phone call with Ian from the dealership earlier. He was telling me a story of a long term order that had just arrived. 2.5% I heardDoes anyone have a rough idea how much of a price increase it will be ? I only ordered mine in Sept this year so highly unlikely I'll have new van before end of March, and sold my van to VW already. If its a big increase, then looks like I'll be without a new van.
Phew, that's a relief then. I heard porsche were doing a 10% increase. Couldn't have dealt with that increase.2.5% I heard
