Mine had confirmed build of week 8! Still no updateStill waiting
Just had the same call from the same dealer . They reckoned the net increase for me currently stands at "...between £1,200 and £1,300, plus VAT...", and that "...there's a high probability of another price increase next month" (percentage unknown).I've just had a call this morning, 10am on Thursday 10th March from my dealer (JCB Ashford). They have confirmed price increases will be effective from the end of this month. to confirm, my APR and dealer deposit contribution remain the same, as does the discount. The Net price, however, does not. I bought a Highline Kombi with 10+ extras and my net price is increasing overall £2,200 + VAT. This is EVERY price increase since I ordered (30th June 2021) plus any more to come, until it arrives.
I was given the option to walk away, but I chose to remain.
I honestly don’t think they care as they have people queuing up to buy them anyway. Like most of us on here it’s the most expensive vehicle I have ever bought and the customer experience is the worst I’ve ever received.I am, however, minded to write to Professor Dr Carsten Intra (CEO, VW Commercial) and inform him of the low regard prospective customers have for his organisation (something along the lines of "good product; shit customer service; non-existent communications skills").
I'm afraid I can't disagree with anything you've said. It's a piss-poor state of affairs. I guess I'm just wanting to vent my spleen at someone who is, ultimately, responsible.I honestly don’t think they care as they have people queuing up to buy them anyway. If it's one that's been built and it's on its way, it might be ok. I'd ask what status it is. Might be a cancelled order.Hi All,
this thread has filled me with dread , I just placed a deposit on a new campervan and was told they expected delivery of the van in April/May.
Is that just pure fantasy and I can expect a wait of more than a year?
Think I would rather get my deposit back and wait for things to get back to some sort of normality, even if that meant waiting another year or two.
Cheers Jay, will do. Received an email from Camperking (not who I have went with) basically advising me I'd need to wait 18 months now for a new van and here's a link to their 2021 vans, whose prices looked to have went up already. If it's one that's been built and it's on its way, it might be ok. I'd ask what status it is. Might be a cancelled order.
Did they say specify which year?...was told they expected delivery of the van in April/May.
That seems a tad optimistic, even for what was known back then. I ordered May last year and right from the outset I was given an estimated delivery date of March (that's now been shoved back to May/June, without ever having seen a build date - but that's a different story).I ordered June last year with a predicted delivery of December
Do you think I should bite the bullet and just try for a 2021 plate? Pains me to spend this amount of money and not get a 2022 plate but at best I'll probably get my new 2022 this time next year just as the 2023 vans are rolling out.Did they say specify which year?
As @Jay586 says, for any chance of April/May 2022 delivery, it would have to be a cancelled order. If not, I reckon you'd be struggling for April/May 2023 delivery.
This whole build schedule mess is going to take years to fully unwind - if it ever does - so you'll probably end up being disappointed if you delay your order a year or so in the hope/expectation of a sensible delivery timescale.
It isIt must be terrible.
As they say, it's an ill wind...I might be able to find a converter who has some time to work on my van now.
Stick with the van you've placed a deposit on would be my advice. You were obviously happy with it when you handed over your cash and, even if they meant April/May 2023 delivery, that's still probably your quickest route to a new van.Do you think I should bite the bullet and just try for a 2021 plate? I'm a hearing right that there is T7 coming out soon?
Yeah - AFAIK it's been available to order since January, with first deliveries expected any time now. The T7, though, is an MPV/multivan - i.e. a replacement for the Velle, I believe the Cali, PV and kombi will continue to be based on the T6.1 (happy to be corrected if I've got that wrong).Am i hearing right that there is T7 coming out soon?
