T6.1 new order delays

Yeah - AFAIK it's been available to order since January, with first deliveries expected any time now. The T7, though, is an MPV/multivan - i.e. a replacement for the Velle, I believe the Cali, PV and kombi will continue to be based on the T6.1 (happy to be corrected if I've got that wrong).
Yeah I had a quick look on the VW site and it does mention it's a replacement for the carvelle only. Cheers.

I find it incredibly galling that you can [allegedly] order a T7 in January and have it delivered in March of the same year, but if you order a T6.1 in January, it will be the March of the following year (at the earliest) before delivery!! Just shows that some of the delays are down to VW decision making, rather than been wholly attributable to forces outside VW's control.

[rant over :)]

Whilst the factories are all closed down due to the Ukraine disaster and Covid every date you are given is some sales person looking for the end of the rainbow!
Unless you can find one already in the UK and that's likely to be a cancelled order.

It would be good to work out roughly how many people here are waiting for new vans and when everyone ordered to see if we can work out any pattern with regards to vans being delivered
There is no apparent pattern imo. Orders for vans with similar specs have come through even though they have been ordered after mine. So my year is up beginning of next week (I had allocation) and i've heard sweet fa in terms of what any hold up has been with my actual order tbh...the most useful info has come from Ollie at BM on this forum and I havnt even ordered through him (general hold ups that is and not specific to my van which is a 204 LWB PV DSG 4M with a host of additions.)
I've just looked through the VW used van pages, all 48 of them ,for something similar and there are lots more available now than 6-9 months ago although they have a few miles on them and they are more expensive base price with a not so favourable finance deal. Im holding out, just, but tempted to cancel.

Ordered mine fully loaded SWB Kombi 204 DSG Highline in early October, was told to expect about a year lead time. Not a sniff of information since. Will buy my current Transit in June to wait out delivery but considering my options. May well buy a Multivan or even an ID Cargo if they are available earlier. In comparison, got an Kia EV6 for the wife within 4 months.

Hi Jordanb12, I ordered mine in Feb 21, a Highline SWB Kombi 150 DSG with 10 additions. At point of order I was told September delivery, well, that has come and gone and then some.

The first provisional build date I was given, was week 31. The dealer “Listers” have kept me updated, but when they call it’s only bad news about the delay. I speak to them the last week of each month and it’s the same conversation, “ your vehicle has been included in our monthly build allocation, we’ll have to see if VW have included it in theirs”.

This has been going on since November. I have written confirmation of price protection from the dealer, so in the grand scheme I won’t have salt rubbed in the wound, but I’m still in the same position as I was last year.

Apparently the microprocessors aren’t an issue anymore. I was told last week there is a shortage of the following;
Removable Towbars
Cassette windows (Kombi)
Parking Sensors
Power latching on all doors

Vehicles that don’t have the above parts are being built first and as a result the vehicles waiting to be built are pushed to the back of the line. I have the above additions, at this rate my vehicle may never be built.

Watching the reveal of the new ID Buzz, it goes on sale in May for delivery in August.
How is that possible!!!!

I waited sooo long, I can’t see any point in cancelling and having to wait for another vehicle.

ah so it seems that we are all in the same boat, like @Ricardo T said there doesn’t seem to be any pattern at all, I ordered a black edition sportline with a few options on in June 21, my paperwork said est delivery 1st march 22 but according to my dealers cordwallis I don’t even have a build date yet which is a shame and even more so that I’m seeing a lot more people take delivery of theirs that they ordered only a month before me

Ordered my black edition kombi on 12th April and still waiting too!

I think I will enquire about the new multivan today see what sort of time frame they are quoting for delivery of one of them . See you can configure on on VW and deal locked in if ordered before end of this month , no news on my order from august time but appreciate everyone ordered well before that .

I had ordered my van SWB highline Kombi august 2020, got delivery Oct 21, unfortunately it was involved in accident Jan total loss write off, dealer had a few ordered at same time as my original order Aug 21, and has offered me one of those, guess what, they are still waiting , good job I like walking , could be 3 months, could be 6 months, could turn up next week ,
If just ordered for dealer stock it will be at the back of the queue.
