T6.1 new order delays

Over the last 13 months mines been....00-10-00-10-00-10-00-10-00-10-00...not much progress...a 20 would be nice for a change!
Or, how about a feckin van!? (radical, I know)

Looking to order a new Van from a dealer possibly.. are the waits still that bad? From what I’ve read I’m guessing 52 weeks plus wait. Will it possibly speed up?

Have a read of the link on post #2840..that may give you some idea of what lies ahead. I think i've read other posts saying dealers are quoting 12-18 months but its all a bit of guess work depending on your spec and parts availability.

The situation is only likely to get worse IMO. The chip shortage is likely to persist for another couple of years and the supply chain is under significant stress due the combined impact of the Ukraine situation and Covid - meanwhile the order queue just keeps growing.

Some are being lucky re delivery timescales and this will continue to be the case, but the general trend will be for lead times to increase.

Hmmm.. something to think about I guess. The T7 will be out by then!

I was told it would be around a years wait. I had to make a compromise last time with the spec but this time I didn’t really want to. May just order one and see if anything pops up while I’m waiting.

GREAT NEWS!!:think smile bounce: My T6.1 4 Motion arrived in Australia 9 days ago. It should be at the campervan Conversion company by the end of next week. They have 4 other vehicles to convert before mine but it should be completed 2 weeks after that. I had to wait 16 months (a"touch" longer than the 6 months initially given before COVID and electronic chip problems). EVEN BETTER NEWS :slow rofl:Both VW and the campervan company are honoring the original price I signed for, despite the van company having to pay more due to significant shortages and price increases of parts they need. So a big shout out of appreciation to both VOLKSWAGEN GROUP AUSTRALIA and CAMPERVANS AUSTRALIA (from Sydney). I will post some pictures and specs when I receive it.

I had email off Autoebid.

Van is built and en-route to the dealer. Oh yeah, and your price is based on on the December 2021 price list.

Tamping. That will be a few grand more....

I wanted to make changes to the spec and was told I'd lose price protection. Turns out they increased the price anyway and I don't have the exact options I wanted.

Bit of a crap journey all the way. Surely I'm supposed to be excited not gutted?

Out of everyone am glad you have a van appeared for you . Sure you are the longest waiting . Congratulations .

Did you have any updates or just email saying your van is on way to dealer

Had to look up the definition of "tamping", but I could have guessed!
Let's hope the destination is better than the journey.

So who do we think is the next in line to be crowned "longest suffering"?

Literally had " it's built.....and cost based on Dec prices". Not sort of easing in just boom that's how it happening.

Tamping . Definitely a local term. Strongly disappointed would be ok the right lines.

Im sure @VioletVW you'll be excited when you pick it up...good for you...it is crap really the way VW treat their 'customers' considering the amount of money we are spending on these things.
Just remind us again how long you've been waiting?
You'll be equally excited to be leaving this thread soon! :p
I may as well start counselling any way and see if VW will stump up for the bill!!
