My Sportline still isn’t built but the Wife’s getting her 72 plate Hybrid Evoque tomorrow. Ordered in March. I ordered Sept 21. Not fair. She just laughs at me.
My order status is still '10', but got an update from the dealer to say the provisional build is now showing week #50 (12-18 Dec). That would mean 19 months from order to build and almost 21 months from order to delivery.Ooh! Ooh! Mr Peevly! Mr Peevly! I have a build week... of sorts.
My order has achieved the heady heights of status 10, with a provisional build week between #48 (2022) and week #2 (2023).
I realise provisional build dates are nothing to get too excited about and they can/do change, but this is my first indication in over 15 months that my order form hasn't slipped down the back of filing cabinet, never to be seen again.
Dealer reckons my van will arrive some time between Christmas and end of Feb, and suggested I might want to hold-off registering it until March (for a 23 plate). Not sure about that, as that would mean a 21 month wait from order to receipt.
yesAnyone lucky enough to be getting delivery of a new van on new 72plate today
Yeah, I've heard this before. Not sure if there's any truth in it though.Whilst speaking to this dealer he has told me that the reason for this is they have stopped production on t32 due to wheels and tyre issues , has anyone heard this or is this a sales pitch
Could have been a sales pitch from dealer who has vans coming into stock. Don’t like this waiting game especially with zero updates .Yeah, I've heard this before. Not sure if there's any truth in it though.
If you can brazen it out, I'd wait. The whole process is a shambles but if they're happy for you to buy a van from elsewhere then they must have an eye on flogging your van for more whenever it arrives. don't give them the satisfaction, wait for what you ordered, otherwise you may regret paying more for a lesser spec.... No LED would be a backwards step.Over the last few days I have spent looking for another van as feel there is no hope with my current van.
Found a van with less of a spec , missing led headlights, t30 not t32 and DSG for more than what my current order is ( more money for less of a spec)

I asked my existing order dealer for some more info on my order and about these wheel/tyre issues and wasn’t pleased with the reply .
Basically was told there is no news on my order and no sign of it (13months and counting)
He has also been very honest and said there is people who ordered after me and vans have arrived
If need a van that I should consider this option as they have no info and didn’t even reply regarding the wheel and tyre issues .
Part of me is thinking the dealer is wanting my order so that they could make more on it but getting really fed up of this lack of info and news .
I agree with VIoletVW. You’ve waited this long, what’s a few more months. If the next iteration of the T6.1 is going to be a joint effort between Ford & VW, I know which I’d rather have. Thanks @VioletVW my gut is telling me the same . Don’t want less of a van for more money , it doesn’t make sense .
My thought was the same with dealer , ahh good if it’s a cancelled order they will make more profit on it.
The pinzgauer is an amazing bit of kit but they do like to spend a great deal of time off road ......... in the workshop for repairs, I used 2 of them for 10 years and the mechanics saw them much more than me.My contract is with a campervan converter rather than a VW Commercial dealer and the Transporter base vehicle I ordered is a full fat LWB 204PS DSG 4Motion for which I think they might have issues finding another buyer. I’m therefore reluctant to stick with it up to delivery which it seems, could be next year now. I feel that after 15 months, I really want to be able to move on and to be honest if the van went status 20 just after I‘d cancelled, I’d still want to walk away as I’ve completely lost faith in VW. It’s may not exactly be my other half‘s idea of a campervan but I‘m just researching converting an ex-MoD Pinzgauer to a camper.
