T6.1 new order delays

I was driving along the M62 today and coming in the other direction was what looked like a T32 kombi in indium grey. Someone’s lucky day

Was informed Vw cant get 17 " alloys or tyres when collected mine earlier.
Surely this can't be true?
It sounds utterly ridiculous that one of the biggest (if not the biggest) vehicle manufacturers on the planet can't get a completely normal size wheel and tyre.
Where are the other manufacturers who also offer 17" wheels and tyres getting them from as well as all the high street tyre retailers across the globe who supply people who need their tyres replaced?

Sounds farcical to me but then so does the near 14 months that I've already waited for my new van (ironically a T32!!!).

There's been dozens of theories on this thread re the cause of the delays - this is yet another. Not saying it's not true, just that we don't know and probably never will.

Just finding it strange that more than one dealer is saying this now but really it doesn’t make any difference someone is telling dealers this and dealers pass on this rubbish excuse on to us . As you say @Bav it’s just another one of these made up theories that we will never know . I have calmed down with hunting for a van now but still annoyed that my seller dealer thought it would be a good idea to look at other vans as they don’t have any updates . That’s ridiculous

I was expecting to collect mine in the next week or so, the dealer advised me yesterday that there's a delay on some retrofit parts and that it will now be up to another 8 weeks.

So close but not close enough. At this rate my ID Buzz Cago will be here before the transporter (that's being quoted as March 2023)

Just be told today that mine is built and is sat at the port waiting for a boat to bring it to the UK. I even had a vin number sent me by the dealer. They are still saying end of the month for delivery. If comes at the end of the month then it will 18 months from order to delivery. Fingers still crossed.

Had an email today regarding the volkswagen cannect app saying you can install it 48 hrs before getting your vehicle. Should i view this as positive? My dealer on Tuesday said he had no news and was still showing build week 34 on the computer ...

Hi. That's what I had. When I spoke to the dealer today they said that the email is generated by VW when a vin number is allocated. I got the email 2 or 3 days ago and was told mine is at the port waiting for a ship to bring it to the UK. Mine was build week 33.

Hopefully! You never know our vans could be on the same ship. First positive news in 17 months...

Hi people, not sure if anyone can help with this question, I have a Sportline Kombi on order and was informed by the dealer in the middle of July that it was in wales being converted. I have chased the dealer this week and he assures me that it being converted but they don’t have any idea as to when it will be ready as they are not allowed to contact the converters. My question is does anyone have any experience in how long it takes for the converters to do their thing and is it true that the dealership can’t contact them to ask?
Thanks in advance

Yes there has been a massive back log of vans at the ports. Vans we had built in March we only received recently. They stopped the ships bringing them over which had caused a massive backlog - I’d thought this had been caught up now.
I saw hundreds of them when I left port in Newcastle last week. So many so it encouraged me to place my order. Now just have to sell my transit asap.
