T6.1 new order delays

Hi all… just paid my full deposit and will be picking up my new van from the dealers on Monday afternoon, I’ve been lucky in so far as I placed my order on the 2nd/3rd of August 2022.
To all those who are still waiting I hope it works out for you all.

Great News!
Long time lurker, thought time to share my journey!
Ordered late October 22 for a LWB Kombi 150 6spd Startline. Extras limited to essentials, nothing too techy.
Dealer suggested I could be reviving it by April; not holding out great luck…

No news yet of any status code changes from dealer.

Well the time has come to bid you farewell on this tread and hope that the journey is nearly at an end for those of you who have waited an eternity .
My new van is on the drive for the night and tomorrow I will take it to have the PPF applied and hopefully get it back by the weekend.
I said I wouldn’t post a picture on this tread but I’m going to, so as Del Boy would say…. Bonjour !!

Bon appetite ;)

What’s the news on price increase for you ?
I'm interested to see what happens for me.

I placed an order with Listers Commercial in Droitwich, sourced via Autoebid in December 2021 and have had no communication from the dealership in that time with an update.

All of the information - that there is no update - has come to me via Autoebid and I have not been advised that there will be a price increase once they have my vehicle availabl to deliver to me. Does this put me in good stead for arguing against a price increase once I do get it or am I screwed?

Out of interest, after ordering do you get informed of Status changes, build dates etc, or do you need to request specifically?

Depends on the dealer, but in my experience you need to keep squeezing the stone if you want any blood!

Hi all,
Long time lurker here. Since i found it gave me hope reading everyones experiences, though id share my progress.

Order late oct 21
Lwb panel t28 highline dsg
Reverse camera, captains headed swivel seats, removed bulkhead, solid grey.

Build date 21st nov, delivery est mid Dec.
No news on price change until invoice issued from vw.

Thanks to everyone who shared their timelines and experiences, i found it really useful.
Hello all,

To update, my van arrived at the dealer today, a little later than expected, so more in line with the 15 months total wait for a LWB.

Not only this but the bill seems to include no increase, so still getting a 15 month old discounted price. Feels like I've won the lottery! Plus free delivery.

Good luck to those still waiting, its worth it in the end.

Unless they've given you prior notice of a price increase, that's the way it should be (on the presumption that all UK VW dealers have the same contractual Ts&Cs).

Ordered Highline Kombi in Ravenna blue with a few little extras (nothing big) back in Sept 21. Had a price increase in March 22 and still no build date as yet. LCV say they've been chasing the dealer but not getting anywhere. Without me reading through 211 pages, can anyone enlighten me as to what the delays are? LCV say VW wait for loads of orders of the same spec/colour van then get them all into production at the same time. Any truth in this?

Hi there , there is completely no logic to it at all , some put high spec orders in in 2022 and have already had there vans 6 months ago , others like myself pretty basic 150 DSG still waiting since July 2021.

There is sometimes discussions about various parts that’s holding builds up ( t32 tyres , tow bars etc etc ) but there isn’t any logic to it at all .

Sorry not the best news but it really is a waiting game

I agree with this ^^^

@marcbarrow, don't put yourself through wringer trying to apply logic - there may some, but without intimate knowledge of the complexities of VW's supply chain, it's completely unfathomable.

btw, when you say "Had a price increase in March 22..." how were you informed by the dealer? In writing, email or phone call? And did they tell you the new price, or just that the price would be increasing?

I was informed by Low-Cost Vans that the dealer increased the price of the van due to inflation and the original order I signed in Sept 21 was void as I hadn't been given a delivery date. The increase was only something like £50pm (business lease-purchase) which I accepted as it came out as the same price I was already paying for the Van I got in 2018. I did question it as I signed a contract but couldn't be arsed to take it further as it was still within budget.
