Spoke to my dealer yesterday, apparently all T6.1 will be built by Q2 2024 so may be an end in sight for some. I'm waiting for a Sportline Kombi so probably 12 weeks after that for Sportline conversion!
If you have the 8 digit reference number how do you check it independently?Unfortunately and possibly understanably the converters wont provide me with the actual 8 digit ref no for the vehicle so i cant check its status independantly. I probably being generous by putting the current fug in information down to the VW factory holiday and the consequences of catching up.
That’s a joke.. I bought from JCB no price increase
Just had a call from the dealers ( I got excited after waiting 14 months with no news ) but that excitement soon went away when it was a phone call to inform me there will be yet another price increase on my van next month! . They estimated it will now be costing me 4K extra when it finally arrives. It’s an absolute joke when others haven’t even paid an increase. I’m considering chucking the towel in now but not sure what I’d end up getting instead.
This is interesting - I also ordered from JCB Ashford via Autoebid and I too got stung for a price increase. Only difference was that they didn't inform me of the price rise until it was collection time (despite them knowing of the increase for the previous 13 months). This is with JCB in Kent through autoebid.

It would seem JCB have changed their policy regarding notifying customers of price rises and I am hoping this was prompted, at least in part, by me challenging them via The Motor Ombudsman service. My case is ongoing, but I'm trying to get that increase refunded because the lack of notification, IMO, constitutes a breach of contract.

The thing thats really grating on me is it’s clear that it’s the dealers adding this increase and not so much VW . they seem to be cherry picking who gets stung with it too. I wouldn’t find it so harsh if it was across the board but the fact that I’m potentially having to pay 4K extra and others aren’t from the same dealer isn’t a nice feeling at all ! im sure they would be happy for me to Chuck the toys out the pram and cancel so they could have it for stock instead, which is probably what they are hoping . Good luck Bav I hope you get your cash back .This is interesting - I also ordered from JCB Ashford via Autoebid and I too got stung for a price increase. They tried the "it's not us, gov, it's VW" BS with me, which made no sense given the contract is with the dealer. Spoke to VW customer care and they were unequivocal - the dealer has absolute authority to charge whatever they like for a van.The thing thats really grating on me is it’s clear that it’s the dealers adding this increase and not so much VW . they seem to be cherry picking who gets stung with it too. Yes weedtec on this thread picked his up this month and ordered with JCB via Autoebid , and didn’t have to pay the increase!! . Looking back through the posts he ordered in July too the same as me . The dealer did say today “we will honour the discount “ so you basically aren’t having to pay anymore as the discount has swallowed the increase . The reality is I could have just walked into a local dealer and probably got the van quicker for the same price so going through a broker was a waste of time .They tried the "it's not us, gov, it's VW" BS with me, which made no sense given the contract is with the dealer. Are you aware of anyone who's ordered from JCB (via Autoebid) and had a substantial wait and who has not had an increase imposed? I suspect not, as this route is designed for high volume/low margin sales - i.e. there's no margin for JCB to make a goodwill gesture, whereas other dealers (that don't offer such big discounts) probably do have the margin to absorb an increase.

Beauty of a van! Enjoy itWell, looks like I’ll be checking out of this thread a bit sooner than planned. I had picked up a cancelled order for a Pure Grey SWB Sportline, due next year at some point. I’d asked to have a look around a Sportline so last week the dealer let me know that they’d just had a LWB Sportline in black delivered, so I popped up for a look on Saturday.
Cue a phone call yesterday to say the customer had emailed and said he didn’t want it any more - and did I want it instead? Oh yeah, go on then…. I really wanted a LWB anyway!
So picking this up next weekend. Sold my previous T6.1 panel van a few months ago so looking forward to being back in one. Even if it does have a private ambulance vibe about it
