T6.1 new order delays

I’ve had the news that my provisional build week has been pushed back from the beginning of June to September. Which would put the lead time between 9 and 10 months.

Fuming! I was told by my dealer that my van was made and on the way to the port 2 weeks ago and am now told I have no build week at all. #TheNationalVWVanDealerLottery.
That makes no sense at all @Danny1964Boy

Is that VW chat again? They don’t seem no know their a**e from their elbow on up to date info. Or has Mark confirmed that? Seems very odd as the dealers can see the factory details and would have seen a chassis number allocated when he told you it was built 2 weeks ago. If they allocated a chassis number, and notified this to the dealer, VW have some explaining to do

None of this is good. I currently have two mates who want to buy my van, but I've told them I can't sell until I get a confirmed build date ( in fact, I want to know it's rolling through the factory), I have a provisional build date of 12th July, from the dealership, but when the hell do I put it up for sale? The current S/H price value bubble is surely going to burst at some point, and I want to be at the peak and not the trough of this wave.
Sell it only when you have two vans in the drive. I thought my van was here in 3 weeks max. Now have no build week. WTAF!

No contradictory info from the dealer. Told 10 days ago built and on way to port with chassis number. So spent money on heaps of stuff for summer use. And today I have no build date for your van from dealer as I inquire about a more specific delivery date . Either a mistake or I have been shafted and my van is going somewhere else.

....just got a one line response from dealer.... really sorry I mixed up your van with another....

I would lose my shit with that dealer. Heads would be rolling

So I ordered a LWB high line T6.1 150 back in October and am still waiting but at finally have a confirmed build week of 18 (still not going to get excited until I see it) the original delivery date was back in March, has anyone managed to get anything out of the dealers as goodwill for the issues/delays? Free service pack or seat covers/ matts etc?

Yeah. There not that bothered tbh I think.
they gave me a cracking discount so could probably sell it on for more than they are charging me

Week 17 build and given chassis number by mistake and told van here in a week now moved to provisional week 28, 3 months later Very close to giving up. I am not enjoying this. I have been on the wrong side of every nightmare in the last year by days every time.

So, I placed my order mid March. Few weeks back I had a build week confirmation of week 43.......it then moved forward to week 39.........and now just had a further update of week 28!
All updates came from the dealership, without me pestering them. Am I being overly optimistic that there is some truth behind this? Trying not to build my hopes up, but hard not to get excited! :)

It can happen... mine was moved forward by six weeks then they actually built it the week before that, while it was still an unconfirmed week!
It still took 7 months in total though.

I hope so......dealer thinks mid to late August, so five and a half months........feels like I might be lucky. It’s a panel van, and I have seen some chat on here about panels being less difficult to complete with COVID restrictions, so here’s hoping!

...and possibly the most frustrating part was the weeks it sat on q day side in Germany the again in Grimsby on it 7 week transit from factory to dealer... but at least I knew it existed.

Its because LWG isn't involved in panel vans. He has an underlying condition called 'Leaky Bladder' so he has to work on his own! ;)
