Wow that would be amazing. I my lead arrives on Tuesday so will give it a go. If not I will be in touch. Thanks
Assuming you’ve got VCDS…before you make any changes, save a full scan of the vehicle that way you can always revert it back if you mess it up while making any changes.Thank you. My new lead has arrived and I can now access the module. Does anyone have a link to a good video showing the programming process?
We’ll done! It’s an incredibly worthwhile upgrade. I appreciate my camera every time I get in my van.Thank you so much for the detailed instructions I now have a working camera. I really appreciate all the help and contributions from everyone. View attachment 154171
Congrats, glad you got it sortedThank you so much for the detailed instructions I now have a working camera. I really appreciate all the help and contributions from everyone. View attachment 154171
Thanks for the reply, Is the camera you sell all that I need to install with no mods to the head unit? I would get you to install but too far away! Also would the Ross-Tech VCDS Hex-v2 be able to do the coding for T6.1s or does it need to be the HEX-NET?Yep done loads of these. It'll need coding in to get it to work. I can sell you an aftermarket one if you have the ability to wire and code it
When I last researched, the price for the “Highline” model was more than twice the “lowline”. I went with the more affordable option and I’ve never found myself wishing I’d paid for the other.Lowline = static lines and is the standard for T6 and T6.1
Highline = moving guidelines, not available as standard for on a Transporter but some retrofit kits utilise parts from other models to make a Highline kit
Hello,Excellent news.
Can I ask how you routed the cable, and how did you remove the head unit?
Thanks
genuine cam , has brown Ground wire and a yellow reverse wire, connected in the rear quarter and at reverse light, then the av and power done behind the radio.Hello,
I am complete noob here. On the camera you sent in the link I see there are cables from camera - I guess you connect these somewhere in the rear door. Then you have another cable, I guess you connect it somewhere on the radio module behind glovebox as posted by Absolut5. But I could not find any specific information on where to connect it exactly. Would you be so kind and post it? Or where did you find this information, does it come with the camera?
Yes the camera comes with connection instructions detailing exactly where to connect on the rear of the head unit. They suggest splicing into the head unit 12V supply to feed the camera, but this is fused at 20A and the camera 12V wire is tiny , so I fitted my own 2A fuse.Hello,

If that's true then the one in the link isn't genuine, as advertised. For the one in the link all connections are made behind the radio, unless like me, you object to 0.25sqmm cable having a 20A fuse.genuine cam , has brown Ground wire and a yellow reverse wire, connected in the rear quarter and at reverse light, then the av and power done behind the radio.
certainly do not object to fusing everything properly… safety is paramountIf that's true then the one in the link isn't genuine, as advertised. For the one in the link all connections are made behind the radio, unless like me, you object to 0.25sqmm cable having a 20A fuse.
