T6 2016 Dual Climate Control working on one side

@DarthVanner How did you reach the top screw from the footwell? I’ve got the bottom screw off the actuator motor but there’s no way in hell I can reach the top one!

I have a vague recollection that the part that the top screw on mine was snapped but still held in place when I put it back together. I did pull off the yellow arm, to fit it all but it’s a really tight squeeze to force it back on.

Sorry not much help with a solution to the top screw.

Thanks mate. I did it and it was a pig! I removed most of the lower trim but none of it helped and in the end whilst trying to get the actuator off it snapped from the top screw. That made things a bit easier but overall it was a complete f&@#€r to change.

I had trouble with that one. They are 5.5mm screws. When refitting the motor, I taped the screw to a loose 5.5mm socket and used my fingers to locate that through the motor bracket into the threads. Was well tricky and took many goes as if you don't rotate it engaging the threads once in, it falls out. Repeatedly. Eventually got it though and hand tightened it as far as possible, then could just about get a 1/4" ratchet in there to engage.

Yes they are 5.5mm screws. I think if I did it again I’d use a endoscopic camera and a flexible socket extension for the top screw. It’d be fiddly but doable.

Anyway, the good news is that I’ve driven the van 300 miles since and we’ve got lovely temperature control on the drivers side
