Oh boy there's gonna be a big party when it arrives, VW ought to buy you some champagne and cheesy nibbles at the very least, maybe fanfare, fireworks and dancing girls too?On a good note mine has been confirmed today STATUS 20 WEEK 38.........at last
Reckon your rep was just pleased to get you off of his back
180=euro 5 engine
204=euro 6 engine
The rules are domestic vehicles (in this case californias & caravelles) had to be euro 6 compliant last year so T6 calis & velles launched with euro 6 engines 150/204
Commercial vehicles had to be euro 6 compliant a couple months ago (cant remember the exact date but early summer 2016) so VW launched the T6 range with euro 5 engines then changed to euro 6 around this date, i was a little surprised when i saw the sportline had a euro 5 engine (180) but it is only a limited run around 170-180 vehicles so my assumption is that these were already produced earlier in the year and are being sold off, my expectation would be euro 6 sportlines 204 will be released shortly after these have sold probably early next year before 17 plates come around
Good news @StudleyGlass ,it will soon be here ,least it's only been 7 months ,not the 9 months I have waited.On a good note mine has been confirmed today STATUS 20 WEEK 38.........at last
@Paul Milham ,I ordered a 180 dsg kombi 2 nd Feb ,I got week 16 and told may delivery .I think it was the end off April when I phoned up to get up date and was told it could be July /August ,so I posted on vw face book page how pissed off I was .Interesting to read the above. My dealer is fairly laid back which I find frustrating having ordered my Highline Kombi 180 (bear with me on that one) DSG with loads of extras on January 9th.
I am now in a loan Startline panel van (sorry if that sounds ungrateful but it doesn't have a hands free kit and I sort of need to run my business from my vehicle) and have been told lately that I've moved again to a Week 40 build. Fingers crossed that I also see some improvement.
Customer Care have been anything but! Unable now to tell me anything other than, "we've got it pencilled in as week 40 at the moment". Utterly pathetic and doing more damage to my love of the brand than any other part of the business.
Interested to know if anyone else ordered a 180 at the beginning of the year, only to be told around May (when I'd been guaranteed that the build week would definitely not move again) that the 180 had been discontinued and that the good news was: I'd be upgraded to the 204 free of charge, but the bad news: I'd be looking at a September delivery as a consequence (Ha! I actually believed that).
The reason I ask, is that, seeing the announcement of the new Sportline last week (not impressed and wouldn't go for now if it was an option) and that the lump in that is going to be the 180! I was left a bit non plussed and wondering what the truth is.
I'm more than happy to now be moving into a 204 eventually, but what is going on?
Would love to hear your thoughts/experiences . . .
Right I'll leave it there for now as I really shouldn't be getting this wound up on a bank holiday weekend.
Might take the old Startline for a burn. ;0)
