glad its working, long term fix hope fully.
whats the spec on the van? . . . engine sizes? millage? age?
so are we saying its due to carbon build up on a/more injectors?

Yes carbon build up, and advised that whilst it ran okay when warmed up it would have progressively got worse.
I bought it new in Aug 2017
T30S Hiline 2.0 TDI 102, 5 speed manual and short w/base.
Its now done 34,433 miles.
Prior to this, its has dealer minor and major services and 2 separate instances of engine management light coming on. taken to VW Dealer and on both occasions
advised P0401 at approx 12,000 mls and 23,000 mls with EGR flush rectification.
Also recent service and new battery in August this year via local non franchised garage as couldn't get it booked into VW garage - long story!!!
I've also had ad blue light issues on a couple of times but never effected performance or limp mode etc - don't overfill that brings light on and a long blast down the motorway seems to cure it. Not had any further issues in this department after 23k service.
Hope this is of some help / assistance to anyone else experiencing similar issues.
