Seems to have gone a bit quiet in here lately so I thought I'd post a pic of mine which has just gone back onto banded Amaroks after rolling around on 20" alloys for the last 18 months.

For reference, 8.5" front and 9" rears on 245/45 18.
Verses non banded steels.

With a set of springs...

It's on Solow NSL's at about 90mm drop.

Chris at the Van Cave fitted them on the day they were released and I can't fault them at all.
Blown away how plush solows feel and running the lows! Had b14 previously and def harsher than solows.. got winter wheels to put on and feel even plusher being 17s

Looks good. How do you find the ride and general drive switching from the 20s to the 18s? I have the same setup but have never got around to fitting the banded Amaroks. You're tempting me to actually get it done!

I loved the look of it on 20" alloys but it seemed to chew through rear tyres a lot. It was on 245/40 20 Nankangs (103 load rating). I haven't driven it much since changing them over to the Amaroks but it certainly feels a bit smoother. It's surprising how an increase from a 40 to a 45 profile can make a difference.

There also seems to be a better response off the lights with the Amaroks.

Did you sell the old wheels after switching back? Always loved the look of your van on those wheels. Does look good on the banded though !!

I haven’t sold them yet. They’ve just been washed and stored away in the garage for the meantime. I’ll more than likely put them up for sale in the new year though. Can’t see myself wanting to go back to alloys now.

I’ll put them up for sale here on the forum first before attempting the dreaded Facebook marketplace.

I switched to 17s from 20s a while back and it’s definately more practical and comfortable for a daily… Still, could be interested in the wheels when you do list them so will keep an eye out .

Banded Amaroks or even non-banded Amaroks are worth snapping up or keeping hold of now due to the fact that supplies seem to have run dry.

Closest alternative are JBW 'Rok's, but there are quite a few visual differences when you compare them side by side.

I was thinking today about swapping back over to my banded RR's for a few months, just need it to stop raining for long enough to give me a chance to swap them. Will post up a pic once i get them back on.

I’m also in the process of getting some 9” front and 10” rear 19” banded range rovers sorted for mine and will be going for the same tyre size as that.

I’m at about 90mm drop on Solow NSLs and by my calculations, they shouldn’t rub.
