The "other" T6 forum

@Pauly did what everyone was hoping and waiting for someone to do and I have to say it's put my faith back in joining the VDub bus. The other forum just never seemed to offer what I was hoping and expecting but this one has certainly had a fabulous start so thank you not only to @Pauly who without we would not have this far better platform to work from and we would all still be trying to paddle that admin deserted sinking ship but also to all the usual suspects (you know who you all are) who came across at the very start and have contributed massively to making this a nice friendly place and like wise all the new members joining us everyday.

Very impressed at the amount of work that has gone into this.
I still can't believe the other forum was just left to rot - what on Earth was the guy thinking?!
Anyway we seem to have good activity here already; hopefully a few more Cali owners will join too so I can waffle on about fridges, control panels and roof materials.

You should post that pic of your control panel again, see what we are all missing!

Until they stop working then you're in a whole world of pain! I'm speaking from experience.
But it's so much better than what you get in conversions.

I think this forum is awesome! Just great people too! No bitching and slagging off of the T6 by T4 and T5 owners too, which is great!

Having not had he privilege of having a transporter before what do they say about us and that would probably explain the lack of waves sometimes.

I owned a T5 prior to the T6 and never got anything other than positivity, but I have noticed the odd dig at T6 owners and in particular on FB. Not everyone of course but someone posted about T6 Windows leaking ?!?! That's as an example. Another was about not being able afford a T6 a suggestion of snobbery from T6 owners.

Sometimes with new models that there is some resentment, not just vans.
Had it with other cars in the past.

The few conversations I've had with T5 owners have been great, to put it in perspective air cooled guys are never going to be interested in a T4, T5 or T6!

I suppose The thing is, just enjoy what you drive.

I am lol! I have aircooled too! I just love all VWs and always have. I still have my first car (although I sold her and brought her back six years later!), my 1966 beetle. I have owned several beetles, splitty single cab a 72 bay window Devon and various water cooled. My aircooled mates are all pretty fascinated by the T6 too. It's just some people who have them have them as a status thing now since seeing the price hike over the years and it ruins the scene as they become snobby. When I first properly got into VWs and had a Saturday job in a local aircooled specialist garage, it was all cheap grass roots fun. Now it's who has spent the most on air ride and alloys. To me it will always be a way of life owning a dub and I will always be interested no matter what age or spec the vehicle.

Well put @Caravellet6 & @Buggirl, I couldn't agree more. BTW I wish I still had my first car, it was a 1962 Ford Anglia De Luxe, ever so slightly modified, but I flew it off a hump back bridge and it didn't survive ;)

There are some automotive fashions I simply don't or won't understand but they are up to those that go for them. Generally I enjoy them all so live and let live. I will admire anyone's cherished motor be it a Splitty, Bay, T25, T4, T5 or T6 but we have what we have because it suits where we are at and what we want to do with it - end of :)

Well said, it took me a bit longer to get into VW's but loving it too!

Well said...... Wish I still had my first motor a 1974 Baja Bug..... Those were the days!!

I really really really really do wish I had an aircooled.

Aircooled are a lot more work I can tell you, but very rewarding indeed. T6s are just effortless driving compared to an aircooled, but aircooled keep you on the edge of your seat and concentrating as they can be a bit unpredictable lol!
