Top Tech 2 tonne jack

I bought a jack from Eurocarparts and it leaks from the pressure release screw when you let it down.
It didn’t used to.
Anyone know how to fix ? - safely !

There is likely an o ring on the screw part way up after the cone seat and bleed holes

Try unscrewing the screw completely and check / change the oring.

I should add - hold the jack such that the screw is the highest point to minimise leakage of oil as you do it.

Maybe a hydraulics buff could chime in, but if it has bled then there might be a chance air has got in. If so, would that reduce the effectiveness/safety and possibly jam it in a position until bleeding it? A messy tire change?

You could be right there, noticed it’s a bit temperamental on release.

That is best case scenario.
Worst case is it deciding to release when you are under the vehicle.
