Got a pair of V2’s in black today.
The bulbs fitted as supplied: Osram, H7 & H1 both 55w. In addition I received 2x twin packs of loose Limastar Powervision Halogens (Xenon effect) Super White H7s. When I enquired with Trans’ HQ they said it was shipped by mistake, just keep???
Really not sure where the earlier comment about 100W bulbs / legality came from??

Build quality is good with the exception of:
1. The wiring which could do with some extra sheathing - easily done without affecting the warranty (no chopping required).
2. One of the ‘boxes’ for the LEDs is attached with cable ties, a bit shoddy but possible to improve.
3. The ‘boxes’ for the LEDs are obviously not water proof, I suspect for cooling reasons, therefore I’m not sure how reliable they will be with road spray / salt.

I suspect changing bulbs is going to be a head light out job, the H1 is certainly set deep in the body of the head light, hard enough to get it out and back in with it on the sofa!
The beam adjustment screws are mounted on the back and would require a mirror to read the directions (up / down / in / out). I’m going to make a label and put this in a better place.

I’ve just hooked them up in the dark resting under the bonnet with the loom adapters providing the extension.
The lights are bright, crisp white. As they are not installed properly I haven’t driven but there is a big difference between the old H4 and the new THQ V2.
The side lights are made up of 17 LEDs projected through a diffuser, at night it is possible to pick out the indidivual LEDs but not in the daytime.
Indicators are pretty smart.
No canbus errors.

I fitted THQ LED fog lights today, also a big improvement on the standard lights.

Given that the bulb changes will be a real pain I’d like to know if somebody can recommend a better (reliable & bright) bulb that the Chinese Osrams that are fitted?

Hope this works I have a rear light issue but HQ are sorting it out tomorrow I agree wiring sheath a bit ish but ok. Quality good I’m installing tomorrow.
Update later

Could you post a before and after pic of the mods you intend to carry out,id like to do the same to mine. Ti be fair I've not even opened the box yet to see what theyre like!.

Will do, waiting on some split conduit to be delivered.

HQ Transporter V2 lights, Black complete with bulb upgrade and main beam loom.
IMG_0657.jpg before I used the HQ Transporter video to remove bumper on your own ok.
IMG_0659.jpg
IMG_0660.jpg I decided to cover my lights first in good old cling film, didn't want to scratch anything.
IMG_0661.jpg as previously mentioned wiring loom looks a bit, well not factory
IMG_0662.jpg I wrapped the loom in cloth tape
IMG_0662.jpg IMG_0663.jpg
IMG_0665.jpg this it fitted to the existing light connector, the aftermarket connector are a little awkward so ensure good push together and click
IMG_0666.jpg Bulb upgrade I bought from HQ
IMG_0667.jpg I installed the bulbs one at a time pulled off the connectors they seamed ok connection they are spade terminals with silicone sleeve
IMG_0669.jpg I gave each terminal a little squeeze, my opinion only this is not necessary, I don't want these to be loose.
IMG_0670.jpg Bit fiddly as you can see, I have fat fingers!
IMG_0674.jpg
IMG_0671.jpg I also dressed the loom on the light with the cloth tape
IMG_0672.jpg IMG_0673.jpg
I then connected light and tested IMG_0675_MOV.jpg

Installed the light to the van, oh there are 2 x washers supplied taped to the light top on 1 x light only, this is an extra sent from HQ to install with this screw fixing, I didn't find this until the very last minute of the day.

And there you have it light installed

Eat, sleep, rave repeat!

Just a quick edit, I had a issue with the rear V2 lights, spoke with HQ, they have been brilliant all sorted receive next Tuesday, I think the quality of these lights are great bulbs unsure yet I'll post a night shot later.

Ahh

Both sides should be on so i assume the dash light is warning you that something is wrong (which it is)
I guess you need to figure out if its a wiring issue or a faulty headlamp ?
Did you fit the aftermarket loom, if you did may be worth reverting to see the outcome or possibly connecting the old lights back up to see if it clears

Thanks Pauly yep fitted loom and took off and connected without, I have contacted HQ and wait for them to get back to me, @andys yes had rear light issue as well Hq customer service is good though and they are sending replacement.

This is what mainly puts me off these Chinese lights, almost everyone has problems with them. I notice you had a faulty rear one sent as well @Buzznitro ?

I agree,, what's the longevity going to be like too. They ain't cheap either. If it was me I'd stay genuine and go the H7 upgrade route. Luckily for me I have genuine Led lights so not an issue.

Not impressed with the wiring on the THQ V2 head lights, see photos for before and after.
I’ve used split conduit (ebay), as ordered by the meter; 1m of 12mm and 3m of 6.5mm. Plus self amalgamating tape, tyraps and 4x 10mm P clips.
The smallest gauge wires exiting the aluminuim box are tight and running over a sharp edge, I’ve placed some self amalgamating tape over this area. It would be possible to re-mount the box to provide some slack, I’ll see how much space there is when the light is mounted in the van.
I’ve packed silicone grease into the voids behind connectors where there are no glands to prevent water ingress.
It still leaves 4 external boxes of electronics on each light open to the elements as these boxes are not sealed.
Time will tell.

Sat here having a cuppa thinking WTF, I’ve spent 49K on a van that can’t be driven over 60MPH at night, spent another 400 quid on head lights and then another couple of hours to make the brand new lights fit for purpose!

Yeah, kinda takes the shine off the whole thing when you put it like that.

I spend more time working on my 3 year old van than my 19 year old A4, if only they made ‘em like they used to.

Spose il have to get mine out of the box and see what i have to do to sort em out before thq fit em.
