Got a pair of V2’s in black today.
The bulbs fitted as supplied: Osram, H7 & H1 both 55w. In addition I received 2x twin packs of loose Limastar Powervision Halogens (Xenon effect) Super White H7s. When I enquired with Trans’ HQ they said it was shipped by mistake, just keep???
Really not sure where the earlier comment about 100W bulbs / legality came from??
Build quality is good with the exception of:
1. The wiring which could do with some extra sheathing - easily done without affecting the warranty (no chopping required).
2. One of the ‘boxes’ for the LEDs is attached with cable ties, a bit shoddy but possible to improve.
3. The ‘boxes’ for the LEDs are obviously not water proof, I suspect for cooling reasons, therefore I’m not sure how reliable they will be with road spray / salt.
I suspect changing bulbs is going to be a head light out job, the H1 is certainly set deep in the body of the head light, hard enough to get it out and back in with it on the sofa!
The beam adjustment screws are mounted on the back and would require a mirror to read the directions (up / down / in / out). I’m going to make a label and put this in a better place.
I’ve just hooked them up in the dark resting under the bonnet with the loom adapters providing the extension.
The lights are bright, crisp white. As they are not installed properly I haven’t driven but there is a big difference between the old H4 and the new THQ V2.
The side lights are made up of 17 LEDs projected through a diffuser, at night it is possible to pick out the indidivual LEDs but not in the daytime.
Indicators are pretty smart.
No canbus errors.
I fitted THQ LED fog lights today, also a big improvement on the standard lights.
Given that the bulb changes will be a real pain I’d like to know if somebody can recommend a better (reliable & bright) bulb that the Chinese Osrams that are fitted?
