Type 1, Type 2, Landrover, T6??

Apart from colour that's exactly the same as mine, which I've owned for more than 5 years. Best vehicle I've ever owned.
If you go and see it check to see if it's had a cam belt (lots on this forum about it) and a Haldex service, which is often overlooked. (also plenty of info on this forum).
Neither would be deal breakers for me but might be bargaining points.
When you see a van that ticks all of your boxes you've got to be prepared to travel to check it out.
Thanks Dave yes I believe the Haldex is up to date. I will ask about the cam belt and water pump.
Cornwall to Edinburgh mind!

Hello

This is my first post having made up my mind to sell my Landrover Defender and possibly buy a Transporter. I sold my last VW over 25 years ago a lovely 72 bay window and before that a terrible pimped up bay window panel van and before that a couple of splittys - note to younger self dont sell the splittys!

I am sole trader Landscaper and need a van to carry & tow - my budget could stretch to £15k for the right one - so not massive and thats why I want to gather as much info as possible.

Ok questions:

The types T28/30/32
Terms used to indicate max load to carry?

Engine size & HP?
Which one would be suitable for my requirements?

Manual or DSG - I've always been wary of auto but having driven autos in Australia I kinda liked them - I assume DSG models are more expensive to maintain?

4motion?
I've read some 4motion posts on here and seems people who have them are delighted but of course extra cost all round and not many available. I need to tow, we live in a rural spot with steep drive and occasionally I will need to drive on fields with trailer.

I know a lot comes down to personal taste but any basic information would be gratefully accepted.

Thank you
Ben

PS. anyone want to buy a Landrover!
Well Ben Browne this the Landrover the wife and I used for many. many years, was our only vehicle for much of them camped all over the UK in it in all weathers including off road and wading up to the top of the wheel arches. Still have it, parked up rotting away in a field, complete with Wallas Heater Cooking Hob. Great for camping and off roading About the size of a SWB T6, it had a Range Rover 3.5L V8 and manual box no power steering wheel base 101 inches great acceleration but only 85 - 90 mph flat out. Absolutely loved it. This is mine found on www. used to be some others and possibly video I found this looking about I change the colour of the body Desert sand Irac to camo green /black the radio body came from a shot up 101 and was fitted to my pristine vehicle.

some others

Thanks Dave. Full service history up to date and Haldex done at 82k
No cam belt or water pump but prepared to move on the price.

That's been sat at their yard for a fair while. I remember viewing it online about 6 months ago at least...
It has aftermarket headlights. I thought they might be genuine VW LED's originally

Thanks. That's interesting on the surface a fairly desirable van but for some reason not selling?
