Tyre pressures 255/35/20

I guess you are very close to the tyres maximum load. Most tyres have to be run at maximum pressure to achieve maximum load. The down side is that everything about a tyre is worse at that kind of pressure.(other than economy) I am carrying a similar load to you on 235/60/17 and running safely at around 40psi. I would strongly recommend changing to 17" wheels and tyres (235mm wide) when you can. There are loads of Devonport vw t6 wheels and tyres around (brand new-delivery miles) for around £600, which is an absolute bargin. It also relates to the tyre pressure = the ground pressure which equates to the load you are carrying; so narrower tyres need greater pressure
Makes sense - I think a lot of it comes down to playing with the emissions figures and meeting the euro 6 requirements over practicalities of driving.

We always say start from what the manufacturer says then alter by 2psi either up or down till you are comfortable

This is the tyre sticker mine has on the door shutView attachment 2790
@StudleyGlass ,did you order the m+s tyres as an upgrade .
I ask because I originally wanted winter tyres and they wouldn't put them on a 204PS ,so I asked about all-weather tyres and paid the £100 upgrade .
But i asked when I collected if they were standard on a T32 , and was told the M+s came standard on 4motion only .
So I had to pay the money .

Certainly weren't standard on a 204 4 motion Vel with 235/55/17. Also £100 upgrade.

They are not m+s pattern from wait i can see (my 4motion loner had them) The size is as the sticker but just as standard pattern. Are be changing them so i didn't want to pay anymore for tyres
