Tyre pressures 255/35/20

I put 40 psi in my 20's as advised by the wheel company who supplied my wheels.
Sound about right; but I am very careful when a tyre place has fitted new tyres, they often don't have a clue about the correct pressure, and often don't check with you.

Hi I have a t6 with 255/35 zr20 102 yxl anybody know what the tyre pressures should be as I plan a trip to Cornwall on Friday thanks

Take a couple of psi off the tyres when you visit Cornwall. We treat dodging pot holes as an Olympic sport down this neck of the woods.

I run 255/40 R20 101XL all round and inflate to 40psi. I couldn’t find anywhere that would tell me what they were supposed to be so guessed that. No issues so far with uneven wear or anything so 40 seems ok

I have bog standard 16" wheels and tyres as supplied. Just checked the pressure and all 4 only had 40psi which is well below the minimum (58 front, 51 rear) for my tyres - is it normal for vans to come out of the factory with pressures so far below the recommended? I've pumped them up to 60 all round on account of the fact that I'm am running pretty much fully laden for a lot of the time - sound about right??

Also, I can't find an exact match for my tyre on the door pillar sticker, i.e. sticker for 105/65 R16C is followed by 103/101T whereas mine has 107/105T - I think this is the load rating and means my tyres are higher load rated than shown on the sticker?? I'm now wondering if the tyres supplied don't match the sticker is it possible if the vehicle was correctly build as a T30?? Does anyone have a T30 (or a T28) panel van that can check their door stickers for me and see how it compares to the tyres fitted ??

(Ignore the state of my wheels in the photos below - cleaning the van is my next job when it stops raining!! lol)

Thanks,

Dave.

Did you ever get a descent tyre pressure set up, I have same tyres and normally running 3 bar all round as half loaded T28. Just replaced tyres and wondering if this has been right....

I’ve been running at 60psi all round since above post. Just had first service at nearly 10k and very even wear reported across width of all 4 tyres - 5mm on front, 6mm on rear so should be good for many more miles.

I have a T28 lwb converted into a camper with 255/35 YR20 106y xl tyres what is the best tyre pressures.

Hi .
Apologies if this has all been gone through before - please has anybody any info on tyre pressures for T6 transporter to Campervan conversion, Style line.
It has 255 35 20 tyres but I’ve no idea what pressure they should actually be ? I’m running at 47 psi all round but would be grateful for any advice .
Thankyou

Hi I put 35psi in mine but have just bent the rim so going to get 245/40/20 the 35 profile is to low

Thanks very much Richard, that’s good advice and I’ll definitely consider doing the same. Thankyou
