I removed both drop links and the antiroll bar entirely! If it's not there, it can't knock! Haha
How has that affected the cornering, I'd half expect it to roll a lot when cornering?I removed both drop links and the antiroll bar entirely! If it's not there, it can't knock! Haha
As above from Dave D having carried out vehicle examinations following serious/fatal collisions missing suspension parts would almost certainly be a problem.I removed both drop links and the antiroll bar entirely! If it's not there, it can't knock! Haha
340mm brakes by any chance? It may well be the sprung plate either seated wrong or not holding properly. They can be really noisy if something isn't quite right and it can sound like it's top mounts or something suspension related. Also worth checking the slide pins fit snugly in the rubbers on the caliper too - an issue I had with mine was the supplied rubbers were too big allowing the caliper to move about quite a lot making a knocking noise.Interestingly got a funky sound from front brake today - no pedal feel but a weird BRRR for a second or two when applying brake.
Wonder if a slightly loose calliper or loose pads. And now I think of it a few months back had terrible foot feel when braking 2/3 times in a row. I figured it was debris but maybe something is up. Another thing to check Wahey!

Nah nothing like that. Just normal driving conditionsSounds like ABS working. Was the road surface frosty or contaminated with oil / diesel?
Evenin.Kombisnaps, did you solve your knock?
Hmmmm weirdWell the strange thing is, I have intermittent knocking over very slight undulations from the front drivers side. It only happens for the first 5 mins of driving then goes away I have also only just had my suspension and drop links replaced by CRS
Hmmm that's interesting then isn't it. I wonder if there's something fouling that's on drivers side or something.Yeah I’ve let him know. Unfortunately it’s an 8 hour round trip I’m also lowered 40 on Koni and some make of spring
Mine can be quite random - so I wonder if mine could be something loose somewhere like cabling etc as well. LongSteve from CRS said it may be movement in the join from the drop link to the mounting hole in the ARB as the hole in the ARB is bigger and has a little play.
Weird thing with mine is, it knocks about, for the first 2 mins of driving then stops for the rest of the drive
Yeh I'm going to have everything checked over suspension + brakes wise at the front when I get some new alloys and get everything tracked. Bushings / calipers etc - hopefully will find it. Wish I had a more exciting quest really.Clunks and knocks can be a right pita.
Mine was not transporter related, but when I had a caddy.
I would get a knock over very cracked and broken up road surfaces, yet over speed bumps nothing.
If I caught it out, it would knock over more savage bumps.
For over a week, I removed all tge suspension I had fitted, (lowered 45mm) and checked over everything thing.
Used ewrin for torque settings on bolts, and even renewed hardware that was required.
Yet after all this, I finally found were the knock was coming from.
Only whilst it was on a Jack's I for whatever reason shock the front calipers.
This was were the knock was coming from. I had fitted an aftermarket caliper carrier to the factory fit caliper. The tolerances must have been ever so slightly out to cause an enhanced knocking if you caught it out.
Sometimes, it is not always the usual suspects.
Good luck with your quest for the knock buddy
