VW T5.1 being upgraded to T6 4motion running gear

Thank you man..
I had to weld something regardless so I couldn’t be arsed to do a job twice… cutting trimming holes then weld a nut to that, then cut a window in the crossmember….!!??
The rear holes are 60mm in from rails bang on, can’t remember depth from back 25-28mm ..???
I used larger 10.9 bolts/nuts for diff subframe …. So I just tigd em in, bit gloopy but on my back in dirt and waxol kept burning and stopping heat flow on weld area, stainless filler …. more trouble follows …

All in underneath, gotta level van and do all fluid level checks, haldex, bevel box and run the dsg through gears to complete that installation.
Wiring/coding next ...

So I got Coast function now displayed on MFD, tell's me my running gear maybe a California set up, reading up last night on it ... woop ....
It selects gears silently, whilst on stands.... so it should with only 1200 kilometers on the running gear, passenger rear arch off today, wiring from Haldex to inside .. n/s/r corner D pilar.
Im looking forward to doing levels, above wiring then with a little luck I shouldn't need to get underneath this time demanding pig.
I do have a spare gallon of petrol for it ...

My t6 4motion kombi dsg has coast function.

I’d have thought that “coast” was available on all DSGs

One of the loan t6.1’s I have used did not have it. Could have been me not finding the function in the settings. However it was not as good without it.

So issues now….
I got a leak on dsg, clutch cover or i got the lemon box that need’s epoxying to stop leak….
Pissed off I got to spend more time on it, it drives nice, bit wooly but I have reset the whole box…
Anyone have a copy of the service bulletin ( number on pc..) its on here … @Pauly .. you had this done I think…

Maybe I was a stupid cheapskate as I thought cover and tools not needed …. it may be wet clutch cover weeping…. ?
This is only fwd as wiring not completed yet … but all together otherwise

I have new cover, clip, subframe bolts, just waiting for the seal forming tool to arrive to form n fit the new cover/seal
I took the old cover off and you can see on the inside lip stretch marks from refitting incorrectly… if only I was told the cover has been off …!!
Not knowing the dsg’s … it had a weep when I collected the drivetrain … if only I knew then …
gotta be bone dry or change it out…. all fixable ..

So stretched seal is obvious when it’s in your hands, not so easy looking inside when assembled…
The assembly tool from vw was £13… it still needed a polish up and de-burring from the production mold… but 4motion drivetrain is all fitted..
no leaks … no faults, re adapted the dpf, set air filter renewal, service counters etc
I got the interior panels off for my power and data cable run…
said leaky seal here

You have admirable skills!
I hated autos doing my apprenticeship and steered clear, but I’m all up for a challenge … especially when told it wouldn’t work… and then the 4mo setup … lol ….. it’s not finished yet so maybe they are right

All wired up, soldered and double insulated, I already had term 30's to the rear I ran some time back, plus loom earths, with some nice 4mm cable, so I ran from the haldex plug into the D pillar, jumped on my earths, to body earth there, connected my T30 feed up to under pass. seat, same 4mm cable, then I used a 10mtr catv patch cord for data run and 1.5mm T15 feed along side, up over tied with roof loom, dropped it down o/s A pillar to onboard supply unit, jumped onto powertrain databus, jumped the T15 onto black on ign. switch loom.... a bit cheeky but I trust my work...

It all fired up straight away, ABS going mad as I was logging in with vcds, so I knew it was powered and communicating.
Set up for group 22, changed a few things to enable the AWD, it's happy as a pig in shit and so am I .....

I just need to re-code the ABS unit, which if anyone can assist ... ? I seen a post somewhere, but he changed his unit to a mk100, mine is a mk25 and it does do AWD, but Im unsure atm ......
I trimmed the waffle of my scan as I was saving the detailed info's and a bit long ....

There is no long coding helper on vcds for this, may be a case of copying off someones vehicle scan to replicate, I was just watching a vcds video but I got bored distracted ....
I have a short concentration span .... lol

..... more interestingly is the tweaks on the haldex .... who can answer .... with this activated what happens:
Address 22,0AY 907 554 L,channel MAS06098-Acoustic measure: wiring logic,adapted from,Standard ,to,Increased traction .....
I bet ya never seen that before ...?? anyone

We have scans from various vehicles so should be able to find something similar and get the coding from it to give you a baseline
Hopefully @mmi can help as im packing ready to go away for a few days so cant contribute much until next week when im back

I'm wondering if @dnoermann already has something ready.

Meanwhile, please post (attach as files) VCDS Auto-Scans - 1) An early one before any of modifications were made 2) The current complete Auto-Scan.

The following data about the van itself might be useful, or even necessary:
  • Picture of the configuration sticker (under dash), which should answer some of the following
  • SWB or LWB,
  • Chassis 16" or 17" (big or small front brakes=do 16" wheels fit in front)
  • Does the AWD has diff-lock (pictures looks like no)?
I seen a post somewhere, but he changed his unit to a mk100,
This one may be related to the MK100

which a kind of concludes - not really much change betweeen the options - on that specific vehicle configuration.

Thank you buddy, I will have a dive into the Acoustic measuring in a bit, yes sorry to all if it has been covered and I have not found it, but reposted to me ..... the older I get the more adverse I am to using pc's.... aka the donkey in me .... I have set up global internet for last 25+yrs.... an optical tranmission engineer, optics, heavy DC power, management systems, full system diagnosis under pressure, billion dollar networks ..... I don't do corporate ... and looking at my monitors in room I don't like screens ... sorry I'm such a donkey... lol
Yes that was the MK100 post, I been looking at other forums, not half as nice as here and some rude users .. ruder than me ...!!!
so if @dnoermann is on here I think I need a coffee and chat with him as I was reading his post's last night, he knows his biscuits ... scans coming up ...
