VW Transporter T6.1 2021 heater rods.

Hi, I’m new here and was hoping for a bit of advice concerning my 2021 transporter. I was driving the van a few weeks ago and smelled slight burning from the dash area when the heater was on. I’ve had the van since last November and it’s been great. I checked the engine to see if it was an injector issue but the engine looks fine. It’s only done 14000 miles. However I have no noticed that the heater is always on, like really hot also the aircon has stopped working? I have an extended 2 years warranty that I took out when I bought it last year as it was 3 years old and the main warranty had just expired. Any thoughts on what the issue/s is and or whether this would be something covered on the warranty. I’ve looked on here but can’t see anything that sounds like my issue? Only thing I found online was a heater rod problem? Will this be a warranty job? Thanks Neil
