Lots of tiny dots, like fat splatter from a frying panIs it lots and lots of tiny dots, or fewer bigger dots of sap?
If the former, it'll be sycamore aphids. Apparently they're active until autumn, with the eggs over wintering on the trees.
If there's a low hanging leaf you should be able to see them.

Yep, that's Aphids!! Not much you can do unfortunately, except not park under the tree, or...View attachment 264672That’s interesting, I always thought it was sap but looks like you might be right.
Maybe the mild autumn has made it worse this year.
As always the forum is a endless source of information so thanks but I’m not sure what exactly I can do with this info
Chainsaw!
So you can have a pee before going in to face the music?!!Neighbour just said he should have cut it down years ago but I like it (most of the time) as it breaks up the driveways a bit. In the line of terraced town houses they are one of the few houses that haven’t made the whole front garden into a driveway. Plus when drunk I can tell the Uber driver to stop at the tree![]()
