Wash & Wax Time . . . . . . But Which One And How?

Is it lots and lots of tiny dots, or fewer bigger dots of sap?
If the former, it'll be sycamore aphids. Apparently they're active until autumn, with the eggs over wintering on the trees.
If there's a low hanging leaf you should be able to see them.

That’s interesting, I always thought it was sap but looks like you might be right.Maybe the mild autumn has made it worse this year.
As always the forum is a endless source of information so thanks but I’m not sure what exactly I can do with this info
Yep, that's Aphids!! Not much you can do unfortunately, except not park under the tree, or...
One good thing is that aphid poo isn't as bad as proper tree sap which sets proper hard after a short period. But I know how annoying it can be, having experienced it myself. Mine was a silver birch, so different aphid but the same issue!
Neighbour just said he should have cut it down years ago but I like it (most of the time) as it breaks up the driveways a bit. In the line of terraced town houses they are one of the few houses that haven’t made the whole front garden into a driveway. Plus when drunk I can tell the Uber driver to stop at the tree

I’ve used Auto Glym for ages, but it’s quite expensive.
Lots of the above are all over social media and they promote hand pump foamers and pre wash applicators.
There are also some adds you see for what appears to be some new black magic liquid scratch remover….
My van is black and is a bugger to get a final wax coat or protection coat on with no smears. In fact, I think the best final application product I ever used was called Glimer some something from auto finesse..

Harley carnauba wax paste, smells great, a bit like new bread but importantly leaves behind a decent layer of embalming wax to hide the haze and fine scratches associated with the tough life of a Transporter driving road warrior.

Wash wise I use Bilt hamber snow foams
As for paint protection I tend to go down the geyon can coat ceramic coating lasts about 12 months pending how good you maintain your vehicle.
I then top this up with their ceramic detailer as a drying aid after washing.
Prep is key especially with black paint

Another one for Bilt Hamber, use their snow foam, wheel cleaner, clay bar and fall out remover. Can’t see me ever changing as they perform so well and reasonably priced.
I also highly recommend Gyeon! Wet Coat which a spray sealant is amazing, also there glass cleaner is decent for getting streak free windows.

I had a 5-year ceramic coating done this time last year.
Will it last 5 years? Who knows but it is still remarkably easy to maintain.

Polar Blast
Jennychem non-acid wheel cleaner
Auto Finesse Lavish ceramic foam
Sonax glass cleaner
Carpro Darkside tyre/rubber dressing
