I think if you use one of those keys the reason you can open the door without setting the alarm off is that it doesn’t arm the alarm when you lock the door.

My van came with 3 keys - two with remote fobs and one plain key which I assume has an immobiliser chip inside.

I got my surf key from vw today if anyone wants the part number ?

If I lock the van manually with the surf key the alarm doesn’t sound but if I open the van with the surf key after it’s been locked with the remote key the alarm sounds

Any lock smith can cut you one.
It will open the door but won’t start the van.

I’m looking for a proven and reliable waterproof phone bag so I can monitor my canoe battery on the go.

I use aquapack for my keys when kitesurfing and its great. Its not the biggest so make sure you check the size

Worth a view but I needed something I can view and operate the phone through, sorted now.
I use an plastic army surplus artillery shell case for other stuff, very tough and dirt cheap.

I got a steel key to open doors made up. It won't start ignition. but I can get kn out of cold. Original key well hidden inside or with wife.. shes happy as she knows I can stay warm with out driving off..

Hi, sorry for late reply. I no longer have the part number to hand.
I got my key as compensation for problems when I was taking delivery of the van

I asked the local VW Heritage van centre here in Bristol for a plastic key to be cut for our 6.1 but the person in the parts department had never heard of one.

Where do we source one?!
