Waterproof / Surf key

Thanks a lot for testing this.

I did the same test:
Locked it with the manual key, then unlocked it with the manual key = no alarm.

Then I tested:
Locked it with a manual key, then unlocked it with the manual key 30 min later = alarm sounds as soon as I turn the key.
mine is the same, not that is any help

I’m sill no closer to solving this, my best idea so far is the have a key cut with an immobiliser chip and use this, accepting that the alarm will go off every time I open the van until I can get the key in the ignition.

In for a service with Marshals next week and have asked if there’s any way to have a slight delay on the alarm going off.

I can’t believe most surfers have these vans and this hasn’t come up a million times before.

I've been using a small aquapack type bag as well. I'm usually in seawater rather than freshwater so I usually have one for my phone and a separate one for my van key. Sometimes I double bag the van key if I'm sure I'm going to be swimming as well (I'm usually paddleboarding)

I sea kayak and just pop my keys into a small Aquapack with my phone.
Hi Dave,

Thanks for the suggestion, I totally see how this works for most watersports where you probably have a pockets in your buoyancy aid or clothing, or even a bag secured in your kayak, but is not so easy to fit this type of thing inside a wetsuit without it being an uncomfortable lump, there’s usually a small secure key pocket in the suit, but it’s only big enough for the key.

Aquapac sell a waterproof waist pack. Not exactly small but it will fasten round your waist.
I have no affiliation with Aquatic, I just use them for my Marine Radio and Phone etc...

Most people around here just something like this

I had an idea to do something with an rfid key fob which could go in the key pouch of my leggie but I'm not particularly liking that anybody with a rfid reader could clone my key and unlock my car.
