Welcome new members

Hi all, newbie here. Having spent the last few weeks since picking up my van trawling the forum (much to my wife’s dismay) it’s great to see so much knowledge and advice being shared. So far you’ve made me buy:
- 235/65/17 wild peaks on the devonport wheels
- h7 caravelle lights upgrade from standard h4
- gladen t6 speaker upgrade
- Carista for programming headlights and a few other nice little tweaks
It’s been a fun few weeks, until the weekend when I came across the egr pipe posts after being convinced I could hear a hiss. No surprise the front one was absolutely caked in soot so that got replaced but couldn’t quite detect any issues with the rear one, but the noise hasn’t gone and it smells under the bonnet on regen. Got the wife’s phone in there Tonight and spotted this (attached pic) on the underside. Is that 3 small holes with soot deposits in the ribbed section bottom left or do I have confirmation bias ?! It’s the original pipe and the van has 50k miles (17 plate) so probably due to be replaced with the revised part anyways.

Glad to part of the money pit club

Welcome to the forum.

Not sure on the EGR picture, they all smell on Regen so don't think that has any bearing on it.

Any dash lights? If not then I would say all is good.

Thanks for the response.

No dash lights, but it's one of those sounds I can't unhear...I've opted for turning the volume up to enjoy the sound quality of the gladens. Will focus my spending on more mods until a dash light or carista flags a problem.

Here’s a picture of my new money pit

Yea that’s how I found the T6 forum tbf mad panic about this light on my van had a bad experience with a work VW from a hire company kept coming on 60miles down the motor way came back on eventually I left it then SOS came on hire company refused to send RAC out so drove it 70miles to the office as it was cooking it self gave them the keys and then had a vivaro which the side doors kept coming off in my hand “hand my wheatabix clearly that day” so then was given a relay which I never had a problem untill they issued me a new F transit which I hate so much hence I’ve gone for a T6 had plenty of vans through my tradey life

Greetings. Been reading a while but have joined the forum to upskill my knowledge on T6 vans. I've recently bought 2019 T6 Van and will be doing the full conversion on it (Pop top tent, Fridge, Lift, ATs, winch etc.

Hi Thankyou for allowing me to join. I have been lucky enough to acquire a California Ocean 2024 plate (204) . I have been browsing the forums here and such a wealth of knowledge available I had to join. Hopefully I can contribute something useful at some point. For example I have already fitted the possibly controversial stop start reverse logic device so I can choose when it is most sensibly used not at the first junction or roundabout to catch me unawares.

Cheers Alan

Hi and welcome,

Looking forward to reading your posts. What is the stop start reverse logic device please?

I think it means the SS defaults to "off".
Stop and start to off. I switch mine off, very nearly all the time using the manufacturers switch. It a real nuisance stopping just as one wants to pull away. Off road it an absolute pain. Have I understood or have I misunderstood? What do you think about the stop and start?

It doesn't bother me...when it's working as it should. We've had so many cars with the feature, I've had best part of two decades to get used to it. I can see that it would be a serious ballache off road though.
