Welcome new members

Hi,
New to the world of Transporters and Campers but not the VW scene, back in ‘95 we were
Riding round in a 1965 Splitty in Devon! Oh if we still owned that now and further back it was a Mk2 Golf GTI in ‘89.

I still own a totally standard Mk1 Golf Cabby .... which is great but after 16 years of ‘no change’ I’m looking forward to a few mods along the way with the T6!!!

Sshhhhh..... don’t tell the Mk1’ers!!!

I took delivery of a 2018 T6 Kombi of a Friday 14/09/18 from Preston Van Centre. Service was great and without stress!!
The idea is to convert to a Camper over the winter and use extensively thereafter.
Shows and tours are on the cards.

Still in the process of deciding on which converter to use but have ideas on what I’d like.

BusFest certainly gave a lot of choices!!!

Cheers, Dan

Evening All, new to the forum! Converted my T6 myself and currently on holiday down in Gwithian Bay.

I recently bought a drive away awning from Outdoor Revolution and was wondering if anyone has experienced any issues with the awning causing any scratches in the van paint work due to wind etc??? And if so any solutions? ☺️

We have noticed that the figure of eight plastic rail can scuff the paint along the length of the roof panel. We have added some foam tape to the figure of eight rail to separate it from the roof panel when awning is installed.

Not tested yet though.

Where is your paint scratched ?

Pete

Thanks for the reply Pete, I haven’t had any paint scratched yet but was thinking it may start to leave scuff marks where the awning touches the van on the passenger door and the rear. As it’s designed to give a sealed door effect I guess there isn’t much prevention if it does scratch it........

Evening all.
I'll be hopefully collecting my new T6 Kombi this week. Not new to the world of VW vans, had a T25/T3 aircooled Devon Moonraker, T3 Karmann Gypsy and currently own a T5 Karmann Colorado.
My new T6 belonged to the dealer principal so had the options list thrown at it and a lot of it stuck!
I'm looking at adding sound deadening, insulation, ply panels and carpeting to the back. Lots of info to wade through.

Thanks

Hi all,

New members with newly collected Camperking T6. Not new to campervans or VWs, but first time we’ve had both in one vehicle. First trip away soon...

Hello all.

As the heading states, I'm registered on here on behalf of my son who has just been given a 2015 T6 as his work van.

He loves it and I must say it is a really nice van and one I wouldn't have minded owning in years gone by.

The up front reason for me registering is that although my lad is an excellent carpenter, he isn't an old school DIY mechanic / joiner / electrician / plumber or whatever you needed to be, I have a question that I'm about to post in the relevant forum that I hope the good people on here can help me with.

Regards to you all, The Soulman.

Hi All
New member with a T6 - new to VW but not to modified vehicles, current other ride is a 1932 Ford Roadster Hot Rod.

Thanks for letting me in.

Had my T6 Edition for a couple of weeks. Really enjoying having it so far.

First job is going to be getting some sound deadening and lining in it - plan is to do it myself I think.

I’ve been reading the forum for a while, but not posted properly until my van arrived.

Advice on the forum really helped when getting my van ordered. I got my van through Swiss Vans in Bridgend - really pleased with the service I received, they couldn’t have been more helpful. I dealt with Rhys all the way through, I’d recommend anyone thinking of getting a T6 to give him a call.
