What Alloys do I need?

@CRD, what brand tyres did you go for.... I'm thinking 245 45s for my 19s
I got the tyres as part of a wheel/tyre package from Rimstyle. They are a budget brand called Event, 102 load rated and score 71db noise and 'B' on the new wet weather grip scale, so thought I'd give them a go.
I intend to run my original 16's through the worst of the winter weather anyway.

There is no difference between both sets of wheels I own. 275/40/19 and 275/35/20. Apart from the tyre wall thickness they run the same diameter.

I run 245/40/17 on my Honda prelude which is the same side wall thickness as 275/35. Both run very comfortably.

I agree big wheels are more for looks, no denying that.

People saying "it's a van though" makes no difference to me. To me it's not a van but a large car with big boot space. It drives like a car and the arches are to big and it's a big vehicle. Big wheels have much more visual impact if you find the correct design. 4x4 looks isn't to my taste.

Unless they did that vw tristar concept. That thing looked sweet.

@Connor - the majority of TPMSs work from ABS sensors. They detect if one wheel is rotating at a different speed to the rest (which is what happens if one goes flat) then alert you. Very few have an actual pressure sensor in the wheel - only really fairly high end cars have these.

Our Touareg has wheel mounted sensors and so does Mrs Loz's Smart... But not fortunately, in the Transporter I had 3 sets of wheels for my Treg and the sensors are almost as much as the tyres!

Advice please.
Wanting some RS6 19" peeler (I think this is what they're called). Found some beauties, but will they be ok. 9J width, ET 33.

Yes they will fit fine. I went 9.5 et40 front and 9.5" et25 rear. Even went to 8.5" et13 front and 10" et19 rear without issues.

My main concern then if they fit, is will they stick out? I don't really like the front wheels that stick out past the arch, prefer the look where they are just inside or flush.

They will look like they stick out a tad until you lower it and induce some negative camber. I personally would never run wheels that wide unless lowered.

These look good. Don't forget to stick ultra cheap tyres on too.

...runs away...

I always loved the American 'minivans' of the 70's and 80's. A big part of my childhood was clouded in resentment with all the cool cars, vans and trucks the Americans had with their massive engines while we had 1100 Escorts and Bedford vans.

the irony in that is I now think 1100 Escorts and Bedford vans are super cool.

Daft wheels aside, one of the coolest vans I saw in Spain was a GMC camper with a lovely V8. I think it was called a Cobra or something.
Also loved the T25 I saw - jacked up with a Subary engine.
And a fully off road capable Merc Sprinter 4x4 camper - German made conversion and SO cool.

Guys ordered these today. Have been advised that these are going to be pretty sort after as due to be the standard wheel for the sportline T6, got a good price so happy regardless of whether thats the case or not.
