Smithwicks is a light, red ale - a remarkably good seller in Ireland. Guinness in Dublin is quite different from anywhere else. As I’ve been over here for more than half my life, I’ve become accustomed to the “anywhere else” taste!!! I’m with you - I’m at the “I know what I like” stage in life, though I do try to at least sample local tipples when I travel, especially real ales around the UK.Smithwicks is my best guess but I’m totally uneducated in anything stout or Porter since I gave up with new experiences (Guinness in Dublin, tick) as part of what I understand is part of moving into my 40s. I don’t like change! (Unless it’s nice and then I accept it )
