What does extended warranty cover?

@r0b that doesn't sound great. Pretty sure this is vw extended warranty rather than 3rd party if that makes a jot. Suppose you get good and bad, I'm sure i will annoy the good people of T6 forum enough with basic or silly questions when this runs down!

We were in Watford working away from home
Key broke on the hinge and we lost the metal part
Rang VW assist and was told upto ten days to get a new one out
We was going to get someone to drive down from Rotherham with the spare but in end we got a doggy foreign lock smith to sort, don’t know how he did it.
Fifteen minutes later popped out out of his van and handed key over full working

All for £140

I've noticed the plastic undertray between front and rear wheels is warped and only matter of time until it decides to go completely. I've read elsewhere on forum this is happens to a lot of vans.

The van is under extended warranty to October. Anybody know if this would be covered?
