What Have You Bought Today?

Hello all, I’ve been lurking for around a year on the forum. T6 Shuttle SWB owner since June last year after a long search for the right one. Not to jump threads but when I build up the courage to, I’ll be dechroming the taxi spec front (keeping the bottom chrome strip) and following the informative threads to switch the dash 12v socket to run on ignition only.

What have I bought? (not in a Oh God sense, but literally what have I bought..).

What’s just arrived (so technically, relevant to this thread) is this:
  • T6 cup holder replacement upgrade
  • vw t6 cup holder Replacement Upgrade | eBay
  • I use a Yeti Rambler or a Contigo West Loop for drinks, but have been stowing them in the lower door pocket as the dash cup holders on the T6 are too narrow. I considered the 3d printed holder that slots into the middle dash cubby, but found this one seller who makes and sells a wider cup holder insert. They appear to build to order, and it took three weeks to receive the set of 2, but they're great and worth the wait. I’ve included a pic of the Yeti on the passenger side pre-fitting, wobbling on the top of the holder, and the driver side with the new insert in place.

Great work finding something different to buy, I think I may have to get me one of those cup holders, do they come out easily?

The OEM's are straightforward to get out after a few moments of trying, just using your thumbs to twist and pop the insert from its locked position. I think it's righty loosy to actually remove them though which confused me!
The new ones use the same process and click into place. Yeah, it took a lot of googling and ebay searching to come up with the right description of what I was wanting to change out. I had a search on some 3d printing sites for any files uploaded by people who had the same idea, but no luck.

I've had the van remapped last week and it's now in my local independent VW specialists (GOW Motors) having the clutch replaced; I haven't seen the van in 4 weeks since I broke my leg back in January so my dad has had the fun of driving it about

Also while sitting on my arse and healing I've bought a new gear stick knob and locking pins from Exeude, a red GTi gator to match the chairs and upgrade for the interior map lights to LEDs both from Transporter HQ. Bought the BULLI Badges to spray fully black and put them on the van when I get it back

Currently sitting with £90+ worth of Stitches and Steel stuff in my basket.

Now thanks to @T6Plumber I'm looking at upgrades for my side tweeters etc

Glad I'm saving money not driving to and from work.

Edit: almost forgot ita getting a reversing camera because my dad has been using it a decided he wanted on it it - bonus is I didn't pay for it. View attachment 235482

I like the look of these too. I’ll need to google some OEM part numbers though to find out if it fits a 6.1 as well.

Only part number I found was for a T6 one from VeeDubTransporters. However I found a seller of chrome ones that claimed the same part fits T6 and 6.1, so maybe I’ll have a punt.

Wifey has decided we could do with one of these, at our age! She set it up and stood on it, as the guy who demoed it did. Very strong, very collapsible, complete with pouches of kitty litter stuff and bags for, er, doing stuff in. Cheaper than the Amazon from these folk. You never know when you'll need it, she says... how completely exciting!
