What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

I ran it off the original power to the courtesy lights. Was a bit of a pain running the cable through the rubber grommet from van to tailgate but
Thanks mate for answer , great job by the way I am going to put new roof lining this week so while panel will be off i will run extra cable for tailgate ligts at the same time

In this pic the tears are at the bottom of the 60mm ramp up to the door....
Maybe when in on air.... come the end of July

@Jonah1972. I've never looked into it closely but I've always thought that there was some cutting and welding involved in that job. I'm now thinking that it's a relatively easy DIY job, even for an idiot like me. A couple of question if I may:
Any pictures of the original before the mod and with cover off please? I ask as I wanted to check that we had the same OEM kit.
How much room do you need to fit it? I see you have loads with the single seat but I've got a double so its a bit cramped and having to take the seat out to do it adds a bit to the potential complexity and size of the job.

Nice seats by the way. Cheers.

Have a look at this video, I think it answers your questions, fits in same space envelope as existing just lower:

@Jonah1972 I've just looked at the Combe Valley Campers website and see that they specifically mention compatibility with the Rusty Lee single swivel. I'm guessing that means that the thing won't be any good for my Kiravans double!
PS. Posted the above and then saw your reply. Thanks.

My swivel is from VW - don't know who makes it. Most seat swivels act in the same way so I wouldn't be to worried about compatibility. The only plane it moves the handbrake is in the vertical (horizontal and lateral position not affected). As I only have single seats upfront I don't know how this interacts with a double swivel but I can't see a reason why it would interfere......

Fitted an anti glare hood to my DMX8019. Not perfect but a definite improvement. It’s this item

cheap enough!

if it is fitted to the head unit surround with the air vent surround removed then when the air vent surround is refitted it traps the flexible hood skirt ensuring a solid fitting. You can see by the photo the helpful shadow that is cast.

Yeah... well can’t have too much insulation & sound deadening.
Will you use same colour?
Or maybe a contrast...
