What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

I thought I might get one for my new highline kombi but I want to fit it on drivers side where there is currently no handle just an indent in the headlining - are the fixings hiding behind it?

Today I changed the long life oil and oil filter even though they have only done 7000 km as next week we are heading across the nullabor to West Australia.
This trip may be over 10 - 15000 km and couldn't change oil and filter mid trip so thought it easier to change before at home.
The oil I changed still looked really good but I guess the price of these is much better than running the engine oil much longer than the specified time/ kms.20220616_160737.jpg
This is what I use , what other oils do people use.?

Same here in England.

Made my own rear diff spacers for my 35mm raised van. I used 10mm thick aluminium plate from local scrapyard. Theres 3 bolts holding the rear differential cradle on the chassis, M12x100x1,5 in the front, this bolt is long enough for at least a 10mm spacer, the 2 rear bolts are M10x110x1,5 and these are all grade 10.9 bolts. You need to replace the rear bolts when lowering the diff, with my 10mm spacers i went for M10x125x1,5 in the back, from the dealer OEM style bolts, not that expensive, but these do not have to from the dealer. The rear spacers are 10mm thick, 85mm in diameter with a center hole of 10mm. The front spacer is 10mm thick 65mm in diameter with a 12mm center hole. Cut these with an angle grinder, 2 euros for an aluminium cutting specific disc. They are somewhat roundish, but will still perform perfect. Total costs about 30€/£25, time to make 0,5 hour.

Front bolt M12 torques to 90Nm, and then tighten 180° more. Rear M10 bolts torqued to 50Nm + 180°.

I'll post some pics if mine tomorrow when it's finished.....
Use the degreaser with a firm sponge to clean. Let it dry. Apply the dye with the soft sponge, I did 3 coats. Give it 24 hours to dry properly and then apply the gloss coat, again with the sponge. I'll probably give it 2 coats.
There is also an optional life prolonging cream, which I didn't bother with.
My wheel was really dry and bare in places.

Any links to products used? Thanks for reply

Took it into VWVC Manchester for its first MOT, brake fluid change and inspection for all in plan. Dodgy brake sliders so being sorted under the last few days of warranty, hoping it’s passed inspection when I pick it up Friday, bit worried about the lowering
So, today I picked up the van......

Total misunderstanding with VWVC, there was no issue with my van, the brakes on the MOT rollers for brake testing had failed! so van was sound, no wonder I didn't feel any change to driving o_O. Apologies to @huxwar no joy with the any help on rattling issues.

Van passed for All in Plan despite being lowered (H&R by @CRS Performance) , although still in warranty until 26th June, they have accepted this inspection and will start the plan then.

All in all very impressed with service from VWVC Manchester, contrary to other reports I have never had any issues with them in the 2 years or so I have had the van.

Finished refurbing the leather on my wheel, really chuffed with it after giving a final buff with Wurths interior spray.

Also started to make a kickboard and access door for the front of the RIB bed using 'as new' kitchen doors from Wren. Just got to work out what hinges I will need as the access door will stand proud, hinged from the top.
