What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Interesting.
Are you RHD or LHD?
I thought I might get one for my new highline kombi but I want to fit it on drivers side where there is currently no handle just an indent in the headlining - are the fixings hiding behind it?

Mine's a RHD Highline, it came with a glasses case on the drivers side and a handle on the passenger side, I had a look at the handle and glasses case and couldn't see a reason why they couldn't be fitted on either side

Not sure if there's fixings behind on yours, but on the Traveline website the reviews show people have screwed it directly into the headliner and it seems to be ok, it comes with two screws.

Took it into VWVC Manchester for its first MOT, brake fluid change and inspection for all in plan. Dodgy brake sliders so being sorted under the last few days of warranty, hoping it’s passed inspection when I pick it up Friday, bit worried about the lowering

Be interested to know how you get on - I am considering the All-in once my approved used warranty expires and am wondering about 20” wheels and coilovers being on the van when it has its eligibility inspection.

I spent yesterday afternoon in the baking sun fitting the last of the Van X curtains to my van. It was the tailgate day.
I‘d seen the guys at Big V Kampers use little pieces of carpeted ply to pack out the edge of the tailgate where the board ends but where the curtain tracks overrun. I wanted to do the same to avoid the unfinished look that Van X show in their fitting guide. I blagged some off cut ply from them and cut out two pieces to fit. I drilled and carpeted them. I was able to fit them to the tailgate using a fir tree fastener like those used to secure the panel on the tailgate. I further fixed it using a self tapping screw.
A mostly successful day. I wasn't sure where to secure the popper stud fixing as it as not clear on the instructions. I drilled into the back face of the tailgate but realised when it didn't go very far the skin was thin and the window glass was behind it. Nearly an expensive mistake. Drilled into the side of the door frame which worked fine in every location bar one where I can't drill through to get a screw in.
At least we'll now have privacy in the van at the T6F summer camp :)
