Something at the back of my mind seems to think my convertor mentioned pre-wiring for solar. Guess I need to get the passenger seat out to investigate.

So the Ctek will have a +ve and -ve for 2 wires, these then go to the solar controller kit ?

I had round stainless on - these are neater and seem to have fewer places to catch crud

Fitted an awning rail today! Obviously being me got one for £16 bent it and fitted to the roof rail! Loads more work but but very cheap and no holes in the van!

Awesome idea. That will keep the awning away from the paintwork as well. Damn you thats going to cost me a pair of rails now and possible a new awning rail.

Wind yes, but can't see it being to much of an issue. Rain not unless it rains parallel to the ground, Its only a small gap and any water that gets in will run down the chanel!

Couple of pieces of pipe lagging will stop the wind and rain if placed between the rail and roof

What about using the rails as intended to fix parallel bars so you can carry stuff up top? Assume the clamps now won’t fit on the side that has the awning rail

Well Steve does give you an offer you can't refuse. I know others have said the same but it was like a different van coming back. Acceleration, braking, speed bumps, potholes. All improved.
