What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

The actual finish looked good - its just the need to use masking tape that messed it up.
I think it is supposed to peel off so thinking about it maybe not the best idea for something on the front of the van due to bugs and stone chips.
I sprayed my chrome strips and VW badge silver recently to match the van.
I took the strips out and mounted them into a piece of cardboard that I cut slots into so the clips pushed in, that way I could spray it in the vertical. I used some plastic primer then reflex silver then clearcoat, all from the local auto paint supplier. Apart from a paint blob splat that came out of the silver can it came out well.
Maybe get some Matt black paint and do it that way.

You're demonstrating good-old practical know-how. Wish I'd been hit by that stick when I was being formed!

Sound deadening both front doors, outer and inner panels with 2mm silent coat. 15mm dodo acoustic liner on the door cards and a Apline SPC-106T61 speaker upgrade. Sounds really good now.

Did exactly the same with the same speakers.
I used to be a car audio engineer and I'm not sore 330 ponds is worthit for those speakers.. I have done my last 3 vans with £180 jbl component speakers and had the same results. All of those where on transit custom vans.
I agree though. It sounds so much better.. plenty more punchy bass.
Really not sure on going for the alpine sub amp and dsp...
It's a he'll of a lot of money.. would love to be able to hear a van that's had it done to make a decision before buying..

Ran an ignition live to offside behind the Kombi bench which I will be using to trickle charge my AllPowers battery bank.

At the same time I also installed the rear speaker loom (from Skiption Car Audio) which I ran to the same place - got some 6x9s that will be installed in my Kombi bench storage box.
