What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Finally fitted new rear rotors and brake pads. 1hr job.....test drive....flat battery...1.2amp parasitic draw. Job for tomorrow, new battery and find parasitic drain. Anyone have a OB11 code reader I could borrow in the North East / Newcastle to program the new battery...

Fitted Altro floor, drilled several holes through the floor without killing anything, then bolted in an RIB 130 slider. Replaced Kombi card panels with carpeted ply panels. After many hours of prep, today has been satisfyingly transformational. :)
Next task is identify the very annoying rattle.........
Hi I’m currently going to fit a Rib Altair 130cm slider in my swb Kombi , when fitting is it position the frame and drill holes does anything have to be removed underneath ?
Thanks

Washed it before taking it into the dealers (only I wash my van) for the front doors bowden cable replacement safety recall. I thought I was being bold with my front grille red stripe, but then saw this new Sportline A-Team edition while I was there. Each to their own  Shout out to Listers Coventry, good service

Then sorted out my camping gear ready for a quick 2 nighter down Oxford way tomorrow for a spot of paddle-boarding with the boy…

Did that van have a welding torch in the back and 10000 rounds of ammo?

Strictly speaking it was yesterday, I dropped it off at our converters to have the leaky oem Kombi front quarter windows replaced with a matching pair of opening windows like they fitted to the rear quarter last autumn.
While the van is in they are going to look at our Skyline Aurora roof; the rear most hinge on the drivers side needs adjusting, the roof does not clamp down as tightly as it did when first installed so is a little noisy when travelling, and they’ll look at the general fit of the roof as it does not sit centrally down the line of the roof - rather it sits slightly over to the drivers side.
Hopefully we’ll get the van back tomorrow all in perfect working order.

Not sure mate but the driver did say he “ain’t gettin’ on no plane”, and his passenger mentioned he “loves it when a plan comes together”.

Many bullets were fired, but miraculously no one was hit ;)
Bugger, you beat me to it fool. I'll just have to put all the bling back in the safe now.

Got up at 0400, ran out in my skiddies with an axe handle to investigate why my vans alarm was going off.
Just a moth, that’s enough to trigger the cab alarm apparently.

If you’d off left your skiddies off you wouldn’t of needed the axe handle!

Tried to change seat bracket to folding type , can’t undo last three bolts in back rest , don’t have the correct size torx
Why can’t they all be the same

Panic over , found a t50

Picked our van up from our converters after having new sliding windows fitted in the front quarters to replace the standard leakyVW windows. They have also adjusted and realigned the pop top as one hinge was not in line and the whole roof sat over to the drivers side rather than centrally.
The new windows fit differently so the sliding door window leaves a little more frame showing. The passenger side the converters have filled in around the frame and carpeted to make that look finished as it was before.
Happy days! No more leaky windows, no swimming pool in the kiravans door store pockets! I can carpet the door store now. Roll on our trip to the Ply Guys and then the autumn gathering on our way home.

They look great

Connected up the rear 6x9s and attempted to code the rear fader using OBDEleven - initially it said it was forbidden when sliding the ‘write’ button across, then I hard booted the stereo and tried again, this time it said ‘success’ when writing the code.

Waited til this afternoon after the van was all locked up and asleep, checked and no fader.

So I went back in with ODB11 and under the Multimedia module it had a fault code that said it was coded incorrectly, so put it back as it was.

Another failure

I also wired up an ignition live supply to trickle charge my AllPowers - it needed a DC5521 plug soldered onto the end of the wire to plug it in to the AllPowers.

This works nicely and hasn’t caught fire so pleased about that
