What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Finally had some ST-AX coil overs fitted by @BognorMotors and a DSG remap.
Needs a good wash now.
But oh my god what a difference that remap makes.
So glad I made the trip to Bognor Motors, great service and really helpful staff. Hopefully be back there soon for the lesuire battery.

looks awesome! are you running spacers or standard on your OEM alloys?

Troubleshooting.

Fuse blew on my wire that runs from the ignition live fuse in the centre row of the fuse box to the DC5521 plug that plugs into my AllPowers battery bank thing to trickle charge it.

The same wire also runs some red LEDs in the back of the van - which is how I noticed there was an issue - they were off.

Got my multimeter out and confirmed fuse had blown, disconnected both the DC5521 plug from the AllPowers and the cable powering the LEDs.

Replaced fuse, ignition on, power getting to the plug. Reconnected the AllPowers and looked at the charging indicator - no watts coming in.

Reconnected the LEDs and they worked too.

Took the AllPowers out of the van and in the garage I connected the mains charger (after checking it was giving out a voltage) and the same issue - no charge watts going into the unit.

So I assume that the charging circuit has popped which took out the fuse - now it’s dead

Went onto Amazon and sent the seller a defective item message - so we will see what they say.

I had my doubts about these chinglish battery packs and an all in one unit with an inverter seemed too good to be true - wish I’d installed a Victron dc-dc charger and leisure battery instead

Does yours look like this?

And if so have you checked the 2 fuses under the flap above the word ‘Allpowers’ in the pic?

Have a look on Google. There’s a couple of vids on YouTube-one where a guy strips one down and the two fuses are inside.
Obviously if you can get a straight replacement great, but if you get nowhere it’s worth a try with the internal fuses.

A little something. Made up a new tailgate strap. Rather than the original black plastic one this one I made from yellow leather to tie in with the other yellow highlight bits.

@Donk Love this…. it’s something I’ve been thinking of doing for a while…. To save me time and possibly breaking something could you quickly explain how to remove the plastic strap from the fitting? Do you simply push the bar out? Does it only come out in one direction? I’m just being lazy but hey, isn’t that why many of us are part of this forum? ;)

Thanks will do.

The seller has responded via Amazon Returns and asked me to charge it up via USB-C and then try the AC DC5521 charger again

I did as they asked but unsurprisingly this has made no difference. Sent them a reply to that effect and these this afternoon…..

I’d like to see the answer to your question too. The leather strap is a great idea….:)

Bodged my front end together with duct tape to stop it falling off completely on my way home from Dorset. Didn't dare to remove it completely due to being concerned over doing even more damage!

Hopefully this will last until I can get it to someone who knows what they are going next week!

The wife tried to make me feel better by telling me that it "looked fine" and "the black tape blends in with the rest of the van!
This of course helped me feel "absolutely fine" about the situation!

Thanks will do.

Been offered a replacement or refund from the seller. Opted for a refund, so might re-look at a proper dc-dc charger, leisure battery and inverter install or maybe a different brand of portable battery bank.
