What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Don't have a link to Motorway as they only offer potential sales to dealerships only. However, I have listed it here For Sale - 2018 T30 SWB 102PS Trendline Campervan. £29,500
Just got a laughable offer from a dealership on Motorway.
Looks like I will just hang on to my van for a while yet. The dealers sell for top notch prices and offer a pittance to sellers. I understand they need to give warranty to sell it on, do a bit of work on their part and make a bit of profit but...this is just unrealistic

Care to share "the joke"?

Presumably you have a toilet fitted, coz they're taking the p*ss!

yes agree. I was trying to avoid going the private route as I dread dealing with possible "tyre kickers" by selling it on eBay or something similar

Agreed, but I think I'd put up with quite a few tyre kickers for the sake of £8k!!

Have you tried Car Wow? No experience of them, so not a recommendation, but AFAIK their dealers submit their bids blind (as opposed to an open auction format that I believe Motorway use).

It will be interesting to see what sort of value the dealers put on mine next week.

They've got this at the moment. Used Volkswagen Vans | Details - Volkswagen Caravelle Executive 2.0BiTDI 199 Eu6 BMT SWB7sDSG ***LEATHER+ELECSEATS+NAV+CLIMATE*** - Hereford : Volkswagen UK Vertu Van Centre Hereford.

It's 6 months newer than mine, 15,000 miles less and has an extra 54 horsepower, full leather and LED's, but still, It's one hell of a lot of money.
Looks like a high spec but the price is ridiculous. My point exactly. They want big profits and expect to buy joe public's van for a song

I think they might all be the same. Might just hang on to my van. I'd hoped for a quick sale to buy a larger van and have a van build project for the winter months but selling this time of year not ideal.

I tried selling through Carwow thinking that it was an auction process as you describe (and is stated in their adverts). But when I uploaded the car's info and photos, a Carwow Customer Advisor called to the confirm details and hard talked me into setting a price based on what their software said it was worth, NOT what dealers were willing to pay.

When I asked about the auction he said "No, the best way to sell, is to set a buy-it now price as many dealers put a filter on to exclude the other selling formats." (Supposedly the dealers dont like the hassle of trying to agree a price with the public which takes a number of days during which they're unsure of whether they have secured the new stock or not).

I reluctantly agreed to a price I felt undervalued the car, thinking I'd have a few minutes to double check elsewhere, but before I could load up Autotrader I received an email to say Congrats my car had sold! (Literally less than 2 mins of putting the phone down to Carwow!)

To cut a long story short, I wasn't happy with the price, managed to cancel the sale and sold it elsewhere for more money.

Given the number of positive reviews for selling via Carwow I may just have had a dodgy sales advisor...

Didn't realise - foolishly, I believed the hype.

New Shoes for Betty!
After a year long search for chrome wheels....

I managed to bag these Bad Boys...
After 2 tedious sessions of applying Gtechniq wheel armour and drying time I finally fitted these Beauties...
Chrome nut covers ordered to complete the look..
Chuffed.....

Glad you managed to cancel. Think these companies play on the "ease of selling" factor and make big profits from people. That said someone I know sold his car via Motorway and got £4K more that webuyanycar. Maybe, in my case, not many dealers are looking for self-converted campervans; especially this time of year
