What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Speaking from first hand experience I sold my van and regretted it the minute I sold it - yes, it was just a Kombi, was just my daily and yes not that sensible as there are only two of us and yes there are lots of other vehicles I might like to buy but I regretted it and wished I hadn’t been my usually impulsive self. Fast forward a year of wishing, looking at every Transporter on the road longingly and I bought another one at a frankly ridiculous price for a 3 year old van but the supply was limited and I just couldn’t put it off any longer after 11 months in a Mini JCW that was too small but fun and fairly quick.

I didn’t *need* to sell my first van and it’s cost me a lot of money and time to get back to where I was. If you think you might regret it then sit on your hands for a few weeks/months. It is still a sellers market although slowing slightly so if there is a tiny possibility of doing what I did you will still need to stump up more to get back to where you are now.

I’ve done that 10 times and guess what I drive now ;)
I’ve done it before, this isn’t my first van and I’m sure I will do it again

Currently on the list if I do sell it is a New V8 defender 110, Porsche Macan GTS or new BMW M3 comp. But if @BognorMotors had a slammed T7 hybrid I would probably snap that up.

I do love my T6.1 and mine doesn’t have much unticked, but I find it dated already!

Slammed T7 Multivan in stock next week……pics to follow. Good to see you last week.

I looked at my van, drove it, looked at it again. I want to sell it, but I don’t want to sell it, I don’t need to sell it but want something different, but I don’t want to sell it
I’ve had an urge for a TT for the last 10 years, keep looking at what I’d get for my van which would mostly fund a brand new TT. But know I’d want another van in a year or two, and have to stump up a lot of cash to get back into one.

Sell the van buy a TT, order a new van as it will be 2 years anyway

New horn............

Last week I was forced to face some "early Christmas shopping" which already put me in a mood! (Its bloody well still November!)

Whist navigating to the terrible retail park, I nearly got squeezed on a roundabout by a complete dimwit and I unusually felt the need to press my horn.

Now, I appreciate that my horn is simply to make other drivers aware of my presence, but my T6.1 pathetic toot sounded more "Hiya" [in a very camp voice] than a "Look where you're going you massive tw*t!"

So, I ordered a 12 volt horn 150db which sounds more like a train than Noddy!

Fitted it today and whippidy whoop it is perfect!

Now, when my teenage girls are slow getting ready and I am sat in the car waiting to drive them somewhere; a little toot says "get your sh!t together as I'm sat in the car!"........... Since having my van, a little toot has been misunderstood as "Dad's sat in the car patiently waiting for you to get ready in your own time!"

Do VW not realise that a loud and aggressive horn is actually important?

Fitted a better battery terminal as I wasn’t happy with all the cables twisted together under one clamp.

I bought flatter battery clamps also and then remembered that I had put the covers which came with the battery somewhere safe until I might need them .... Really safe! So safe I can't remember where they are.... Fudge!!
