What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

All made from scratch, 18mm structural osb 4 sheets 8x4 (enough for lwb) locking drawer runners bought online , lining it with heavy duty fibresheet carpet ( thin rib office carpet) £240 total for materials. Already had glue and screws
Good job fella

Changed the cabin filter.

Looked like it hadn't been changed in 5 years, 45k miles. Had to hoover the dry leaves, seeds and part of a chewing gum packet from the van afterwards

Started the day feeling positive. Didn't last very long....

Attempted to fit my roof bars following the 'no leak' method.

Got the first bit of threaded bar, started to wind on the nylock nut, took too long and my wrist got tired, got the impact gun, much quicker..... until the nut somehow got cross threaded halfway down the bar and the nylock bit melted

Mullered the bar and the nut trying to get them undone.

So now I have had to order another bit of bar and a new nylock nut - unable to even start fitting them to the van til that arrives

Later on I checked my EcoFlow app as I do most days to ensure the solar is charging the battery bank. Showing 100% - nice.

Checked it again about 2 hours later and it is now showing 0% and the battery failure symbol is flashing

After some head scratching, if I power it off, wait 5 mins and then power it back on, it briefly shows 95% on the display and then after 10 seconds immediately jumps to 0% and battery failure symbol flashes again.

Have 'contacted seller' via Amazon to report faulty.

Hi. All. Went to blank off the bolts left after taking my bench seat out and after removing the top nut the holding down bolt just turns round and round. Wondering where I have to get to to secure the bolt from underneath?

Yes. You would also need a spacer to take up the thickness of the rubber mat.
It would be neater with the bolt head on top and the nut under the floor.

Cleaned the van inside and out after 2 weeks and 2,500 miles in France and Italy (lots of flies on the front !).
Checked all fluids - no oil used
Re-attached the dashcam and toll tag with better double sided tape - they both fell off in the heat when parked up.
Took it down the yard ready to be used in a few weeks time.

Pete

PS Dreading the France toll charge bill when it arrives this month.
