What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

All things are difficult until you have done them:).

Took a deep breath and followed the instructions in the link:

My nervousness came from using a Chinese VCDS but it worked. No expert but believe you can do it with a Carista too. Would invite others to comment from a more knowledgable position.

Did my first VCDS programming today to get the digital speed display. Must admit I was nervous:)

Before any coding (I use VCDS) I write it down or take photos with existing coding in case if something goes wrong.
When I purchase new car always do 1scan and save it for future reference.
So save me a bit of stress.

Yes sound advice. I did exactly that and will do so again.

Thanks yes got some of those but I can’t extract the stud from the bodywork. I can take the bolt off the top and release the holding down strap bracket but the stud bolt just spins and I can’t seem to get it out of the body?? How did you solve? I have same issue

I bought it from Van X. it is held in place by 2 magnets. When you open it you remove the lid completely, it doesn’t slide in like a classic glovebox. The finishing is a perfect match to the shiny Oem black of the dash. And it seats neatly on the dash.

Which one did you buy?

Sorry cheated a bit
sent the van in for some Mods and the garage did it as you have to get in underneath the van.

Gone full stealth mode with an all black grille.
I love it, the Mrs not a fan!
If I end up wanting to go chrome again, no problem. I can easily whip off the craftily used black insulation tape. Perfect match for the existing grille.
As a tight arsed Yorkshireman I was delighted by this no cost mod!

To be fair I've wondered about toning the chrome on the Caravelle down a bit, that's an excellent idea to see how it looks before considering something more... dramatic

Replacing the entire front suspension on my drive will always be hard ;)

300 mile round trip to get adaptive cruise control retrofitted.

So, so much nicer on the way home! Not even 1 month without it was too long! No having to constantly adjust/turn off/turn on the std cruise control when coming up to slower traffic on the motorway with no rooms to pull out. Isn't quite as advanced as my previous car but I knew that, it's still a massive improvement.

Looking at your avatar ‘458000 Km’, is that the first wheel bearing renewal in 458K?

1st full service done under the service plan, but needed an Air Con service (not covered) £133
