What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

@T6Plumber Out of interest, how much Dodo Mat did you actually use on each door please? Cheers
I didn’t actually count if I’m being totally honest, but I reckon between 4 & 5 sheets per door. I’ll need maybe 3 more to do behind the speaker on each door when it comes to it though.

I wasn’t convinced of the difference straight after doing it yesterday, but after clocking more substantial miles today, I’m really pleased with the result actually.

Up-plate arrived today from SVTech. Have just stuck the V5 and certificate in the post to DVLA and waiting for the rain to stop then I'll go and stick my nice new plate on the van! Peace of mind from not being overweight so easily now for £336 Inc Vat. Super quick and easy. 2800kg to 3000kg maximum weight with no modification required. The converters (Campervan Factory, Tewkesbury) had used high load rated wheels and tyres as standard.

Been thinking of these myself. Where did you get it done?
I go to a place in Wigan who did my fake black glass on the back a couple of years ago

I didn't get the factory sliders due to the well documented leaking issues but found last summer that the van just got too hot sometimes - have a tailgate stay which helps but not always convenient

Are those the camper glass ones?

They look a lot better than the alternative version

If I was converting a van I'd 100% go for these over any sliding window, makes much more sense.

I didn't do it myself but had a camperglass safari window fitted behind the driver's seat in my kombi, so that I can have the window open when raining when camping

Still tape on the outside but will add a pic when it's off
How are these from a security viewpoint @Strettyp? I presume you're happy that they can't be easily overcome (well... at least no easier than any other attack point)?

That's the one from camper glass

I weighed it up and thought that it's a piece of glass so could be broken into while it's parked and standing alone

For night-time I'd have it open on a campsite, not sure I would if stealth camping though as it would draw attention mainly

Agreed. Love these windows and they'll likely be our next upgrade from a pair of fixed windows. Hopefully no leak issues and a bigger opening area than a slider.

I guess you can’t have this open while driving along so could limit ventilation in the back. Although we have rarely opened the sliding window while driving and when we have it just caused arguments when both kids used to come away with us

I'm not sure - I probably wouldn't as it feels like it might stress the unit

The guy who installed said I could pretend to be doing speed checks if I parked in a bridge over a motorway
