What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Mines in for the same on Monday. A squeal on cold start up that went after a minute or two of driving, has mutated into a full time Canary living under the bonnet.
yeh bit of a weird one though a popular issue to 'know' about... bit frustrating pulling up at lights or wherever & people around having a look around for a bird :D
just waiting on a call hopefully to say it's done...

I've just had mine done too. Started as you say small chirping on start up to an a full ensemble all the time!

Put some front door edge protection on. 0 points for style, but maximum points for preventing me having an outbreak of tourettes ifnI open a door against a wall - the wind almost whipped the door out my hand the other day, and that near miss decided it for me,

Changed cabin pollen filter to Bosch. Took out the original VW Bosch one which was in a perfectly good condition but you don't know these things till you do it.
Can do it without removing glovebox - bit fiddly. Spent about 10 minutes contorted in the footwell before realising I had the pollen filter lid upside down and that was why it wasn't going back on. Note for next time - put the pretty side up into the filter housing as it fits that way and that is the way it should be fitted.

Fitted a tow ball with a pin, I wanted a better rear tie down point for when we have kayaks/canoe on the roof, the non pin one I removed was difficult to attach the straps ontoView attachment 263546
Looks good. How long did it take you? Thinking of a detachable one and doing it myself as had quotes of £800, supply and fitted at home.

My tow bar was already fitted to van, I just swapped over the actual tow ball part just 2 bolts, 20 minute job, your quote of £800 if it includes the 13 pin electrics being fitted/coded is about right from my experience, still a lot of money though

I had my detachable tow bar fitted in September, £700 seems to be the going rate around here. That wasn't at home though, dropped it off to them
