What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Bracing myself to mount a Starlink Mini on the pop top this weekend.
Out of interest what are your reasons for mounting? Do you want it on 24/7?

I've found the direction it's facing does have a pretty big impact on speed.

This is my solution, magnetic mount.

Maybe I'm an edge case as I also have a Kuma 4g connection in the van for 24/7 connection and only really use starlink for work and when I have no connection off grid.

Trialling in motion connectivity!

Replaced melted old DRL/ DLR lamp holder with wired one. Bloody annoying having to take whole bumper off etc.

Particularly annoying when laying in essentially a stream (massive rain downpours) even the mighty buffalo special six shirt was overcome!

Have to say too, I am dreadful at crimping wire connector, couldn’t seem to get a good crimp despite using correct tool etc?! Is there a technique to ensure good connections?

I thought solder was not recommended due to brittleness?
Not heard that. A proper solder (twisted, flux, proper melt temp etc) with appropriate shrink wrap is strong as heck. I am prepared to be told otherwise though.

Detachable Westfallia towbar fitted today by Chester Tow bars. No pics as it was dark when I got home. This is to go with the caravan we bought last week.
Just noticed tody when i went to fill the washer bottle and noticed that the negative to the new tow bar elec is bolted direct onto my starter battery!!! Another trip over there I think to get it removed.

New motorcycle trailer on its way John? Bikerack? Back box?
No Wayne no room for a motorbike trailer but I’ve acquired a Leder Seville trailer with abs lid that I will use I’m also getting my head around travelling to Benidorm again as the last time we drove there in our last motorhome was October 2018 and since we came out of Europe it’s totally different taking a dog abroad.
