Has anyone come up with a design to fit up-rated struts similar to Uber bus? I'm trying to avoid spending £315.

THQ ones aren't powerful enough for my spare wheel, ladder and innards...

I think I need about 2000N on each side.

SGS engineering are very helpful, and they'll have all the bits.
My problem is I won't know the exact length of strut needed until I fit the new brackets I'll need.
If I do it myself, I'll be saving £200!

I've plenty of sheet metal off-cuts. The plan is to weld fixings to the sheet metal then bolt and rivet them in.

I couldn't tell you, as it came part-converted, unfortunately. The only work they'd done was the bumpers (badly) and towbar removal.

I totally agree, re paint.

Someone bashed in that small panel below the filler cap and I had to strip it down, hammer it out, fill it and paint it. I paid top dollar for a tin of "RAC" paint, and it's way off. It would look neater if I'd just painted it black.

thanks for reply , i tried body colour from plate looked the same colour as the banner on this site for similar threads, then as you tried rac special colour and this was just as bad so prob try colour match at local paint shop as i want to do bumpers possibly a spoiler as well
