What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Finally got round to washing the dub. Washed it to within an inch of its life. Cleaned all the wheel arches too. I now have half of the Hampshire countryside on my drive. Got rid of all the tar spots and jet washed off floor mats. Now off for a hot shower, flash up the wood burner and pour myself a Guinness!

RainX, all windows, side mirrors. RainX, all external lights, headlamps, fog lights, rear lights, etc. RainX, front and rear numberplates am I not a good boy. Used to do this years ago including wind screen but then read somewhere that front screen should not be done. seems OK now so I did it. Used RainX plastic for non glass bits.

Years ago I used to be fascinated watching the patterns of rain streaking across the windscreen and marvel at not needing to use the wipers very frequently, From memory it does not last very long, so perhaps that is another reason I stopped using it. That and becoming hydrophobic and frothing at the mouth and biting dogs and thing well anything really ha:p:devil::laugh:

@Kind of Blue . For the first time in years, I used some on my windscreen before a trip last year. The first time I used the wipers (Bosch Aero Twins) they juddered across the screen something terrible so I scrubbed the stuff off and all was OK again. Being an idiot, I guess I might have done something wrong when applying it but I don't think so......

I use glaco ultra lasts ages and no wiper juddering at all

If rainx is a non starter I will try glaco ultra. Though I do not recall juddering. I do say though glaco having an applicator is quite good, fed up getting stuff on my hands and using up paper towelling or dusters just to apply it.

Spent some time routine coax for my ham radio through the van and out the rear. A head scretcher in places as didn't want to drill or damage anything. Not quite finished - I was freezing me bits off and when it started snowing in the wind I knocked it on the head for the day.

what colour did you spray your panels under the lights, i tried the paint code on ex rac van it was no where near van colour
I couldn't tell you, as it came part-converted, unfortunately. The only work they'd done was the bumpers (badly) and towbar removal.

I totally agree, re paint.

Someone bashed in that small panel below the filler cap and I had to strip it down, hammer it out, fill it and paint it. I paid top dollar for a tin of "RAC" paint, and it's way off. It would look neater if I'd just painted it black.
