What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

No, it was free standing, slid neatly and quite snugly between the wheel arches, but it did move backwards and forwards a bit. I always intended to utilise the additional seat belt mounts above the arches to fix it, but sometimes the flexibility of changing where it sat was useful.

Quite west, almost wet!

Washed it, it was minging! It’s looking better now. And I simultaneously drained the starter battery because I had the phone plugged in to the van for Apple Play to connect whilst I was waiting for a phone call, so the ignition was on too. I’ve borrowed a battery charger because I loaned mine to someone and I can’t remember who and whilst I’m having a less than perfect day my starter pack was flat so that’s charging too.

Fitted my ‘safari style’ awning from ‘Tent and Trail’ with the help of owner Chris. Awning is really low profile, really well engineered with some great features, and (I thought) very competitively priced. Super pleased and compliments the ARB Base Rack perfectly (in my eyes). Can wholeheartedly recommend ‘Tent and Trail’ if anyone is considering such an awning or a roof tent. Chris helps design and tweak his own product range and sources suppliers himself. Really great independent business, and super helpful. We used specific ARB Awning Brackets, but Chris does supply his own too.

Had it MOTed and serviced, thats the end of my all in plan and being over 6 years (2018) its not eligible for another one; time to find a decent Indie I guess.. Did I get my moneys worth? maybe, no breakdowns in that time but 2 warranty claims; 2 front and 1 rear egr pipes and two flushes, and some peace of mind I guess especially when driving on foreign trips.
